After winning last season’s overall championship by a dominating margin, Thomas Pages comes into the year as the rider to beat. The French rider has a plethora of unique tricks in his arsenal, many only he is capable of landing, along with one of the sport’s most impressive whips. Before Pages can take another title, he must fend off the advances from a stacked list of competitors.
For New Zealand’s Levi Sherwood, the past seasons have been somewhat lackluster. Although the former world champion performed well on certain occasions, his was off the mark of the competition more often than not. Sherwood’s skills on a bike, however, should not be questioned and he will be one to watch at every event of 2014.
American Adam Jones is one of the sport’s most decorated riders, and expectations come with the status of being an X Games gold medalist. Although he spent limited time on the 2013 X Fighters tour, Jones is no stranger to the rigors of world travel and was competitive at every event he has competed in.
Australians are known for their freestyle motocross prowess and the next generation of riders from the island will make this year’s contest season even more exciting. Rob Adelberg has take victory at past X Fighters events, Clinton Moore launched into the sport’s spotlight with daring moves, and consistency is one of Josh Sheehan‘s biggest assets. Any of them could be a surprise winner at some point in the year.
