Action at the Phoenix Supercross was even better than it was at the season-opening Anaheim 1 event, as we saw two new winners emerge in the 250 and 450 classes. Yamalube/Star Racing/Yamaha’s Cooper Webb and GEICO Honda’s Eli Tomac both rebounded from bad luck and poor showings at A1 and made statements with their dominant wins. Our man on the scene, Ryne Swanberg, was there to capture some epic images…

“The Supercross tour rolled into the desert city of Phoenix, Arizona, this past weekend for the second stop of the 2015 Monster Energy Supercross Championship. Phoenix is usually a dry slick track but this year a lot of water before practice brought a very rough and rutted race track. The track was actually tamed down after the first practice sessions and I think it made for a better race track. You normally don’t get any ruts on a West Coast track because the dirt doesn’t freeze outside like the Eastern rounds but Phoenix was an pleasant surprise. Riders were attacking the corners all day long that provided for some nice imagery and one of my favorite shots of the day came from practice when Eli Tomac went wide open around a tall berm, standing up with just one foot on the peg while navigating a gnarly rut.” – Swanny
