AGP Racing Team Picking Up Steam

Colorado Springs, Colorado (7/30/04) ¿ The AGP Racing team of Tanya Satchwell and Sarah Whitmore will be hitting the track again this weekend with the rest of the Women¿s Motocross Association, as round three of the WMA Pro MX Series is set to go off in Washougal, Washington.

AGP Racing riders Satchwell and Whitmore are currently third and fourth in the series points standings, and Whitmore has one race win under her belt, at the Glen Helen opening round during The Prequel. The first WMA moto will take place on Saturday, July 31st at Washougal, while the second will take place during halftime of the AMA/Chevrolet U.S. Motocross Nationals.

¿I really like racing in front of all the fans at an AMA National,¿ Whitmore says. ¿And I really like Washougal, too. It¿s such a pretty facility, and it¿s a really fun track.¿

Former Women¿s Motocross National Champion Satchwell is really looking forward to continuing her return to form at Washougal as well.

¿I¿ve always liked Washougal,¿ Satchwell says. ¿Tarah (Geiger) and Jessica (Patterson) are both going really fast right now, and I need to make up some ground in the championship. Actually, my teammate Sarah is going really fast too, so I¿ve got my work cut out for me.¿

Following Washougal, both Satchwell and Whitmore will be taking the red-eye to Tennessee, where they will compete again in the Women¿s class at the Loretta Lynn¿s Amateur MX National, which Whitmore won last year.

¿The track at Loretta¿s really suits me,¿ Whitmore says. ¿Hopefully I can have more of the same success this year as I did last year.¿

Women¿s MX is taking off, as it has been featured in both Transworld Motocross and Racer X Illustrated in some capacity recently, and Racer X¿s coverage included a six-page interview of Sarah Whitmore. MX Racer Magazine did an entire feature on women in racing, and it included a cover shot of Sarah and Tanya.

This weekend at Washougal, Sarah and Tanya will both still be sporting their prototype Thor Women¿s riding gear, and they will also be featured in the new Thor catalogs wearing the gear.

¿I¿m just happy we finally have high-quality, women-specific riding gear,¿ says Whitmore. ¿And it¿s cute too!¿
