Andrew Short, King of Bercy 2004

PARIS (11/14/04) ¿ In his first race with the Factory Honda racing program, Andrew Short was named ¿King of Bercy¿ ¿ capturing the overall Bercy Supercross title at the Palais Omnisport with a perfect 1-1-1 moto performance in the three night program aboard the Honda CRF250R.

Short, whose biggest previous win was when he captured the Dave Coombs Sr. 125 Shoot-Out in Las Vegas (2003), was participating in his first race ever for the Honda program. But not a stranger to Bercy, Short had won the first night¿s event last year as well, though not the overall like this past weekend.

¿Definitely a good way to get things started with Honda,¿ said Short. ¿It¿s amazing how well things came together so quickly with the team. I feel like I¿ve been racing the CRF250R for months, when in reality I¿ve only been riding it for a few weeks.¿

Short topped a field of talented riders at the popular European event, including GP champ Mickael Pichon, Portugal¿s Joaquim Rodrigues and top American riders Mike Brown, Ryan Mills and defending US Open champion Greg Schnell.

¿I¿m looking forward to getting back home and continuing to work on getting ready for the start of the THQ/AMA Supercross season,¿ said Short.
