Arenacross Visits the Target Center for the First Time Ever as the BooKoo Series Lands in Minneapolis

Indoor Motocross to Bring 160 Loads of Dirt and High-Flying Racing Action February 3-5, 2006!

Ft. Worth, TX January 27, 2006 — Mike Kidd Entertainment Group — announced today that Round Ten of the K&N presents BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series Brought to you by Toyota will visit the Target Center in Minneapolis February 3-5 as the racing series makes the Minnesota stop as part of its national tour.

This is the largest motorcycle racing event to come to Minneapolis since Supercross visited the city in February of 2004.  The action returns with the BooKoo Arenacross Series as the best riders in the country will be vying for a record $3.5 million in cash and contingency over the 11 city tour. 

Over 150 truck loads of local dirt will be used to construct the track – featuring high-flying jumps that send the riders 70 feet through the air creating the most intense and closest action ever.  

The race for the Championship is heating up in the BooKoo Energy Drink series with two-time arenacross champion Josh Demuth holding down the points lead, over arch rival Shane Bess and Tommy Hofmaster.

Local motocross hero James Povolny returns to the BooKoo Arenacross for the first time since the Salt Lake City round back in December. His speed, experience and support from the local fans will give him a shot at the podium during both nights of professional racing.

Wheel-to-wheel professional racing takes place both Friday and Saturday night with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. featuring the BooKoo Energy Drink Track Walk giving fans the opportunity walk the track the pros ride and meet the racers and Miss BooKoo Arenacross – Erin Normoyle. 

Opening Ceremonies begin at 7:45 p.m. and the gates drop for pro racing at 8:00 p.m.   The event also features X-Games icon Trevor Vines performing a freestyle exhibition during a break in the racing action.  The event concludes around 10:30 p.m. each night.

Sunday the local amateurs take to the track for the 21-class amateur shootout with doors opening at 11:00 a.m. and main event racing beginning at noon.

The BooKoo Arenacross Championships is held in conjunction with the Cycle World International Motorcycle Show taking place at the Minneapolis Convention Center all three days, featuring the 2006 line-up of street, touring and dirt bikes.
