Key Features:

-Co-injected elbow and forearm cup

What We Liked:

-Fairly low-profile and do not stick out too much worn under the jersey

-Not very restrictive or noticeable while riding

What We Didn’t Like:

-Migrate slightly while riding

-Felt like they restricted blood flow in the arms, which may contribute to arm pump or arm fatigue

-Not very breathable

What We Really Think:

Wearing elbow guards is similar to using a neck brace. Although that part of the body has never seen any protective gear while riding, once you adjust to it, it’s hardly perceptible.  With a slim fitting jersey, when first wearing the Strata you feel like you have just sprouted wings.  However, once you start moving around on the bike, you forget they are on.  Our only big gripe is the fact that they did tend to migrate even during short motos.  Over a moto of 15 minutes or more, the guards may become a hindrance.  If you are looking for more protection but don’t want to go with full body armor, check out the EVS Strata elbow guards.
