Product: EVS Flux Roost Protector
Application: Upper Body Protection
Options: Youth and Large sizes
Colors: Blue, Red, Smoke/Black, Clear/ Black, White/Black, Black/Black
Price: $115
Key Features:
-High-impact-proof Lexan construction
-Dual panel sections on both front and back
-Hinged shoulder protectors
What We Liked:
-Offers very good coverage
-Back panel is longer than average, which is good for riders with longer torsos
-Pivoting waste “belt” system helps keep protector secure but not restricting
-Plenty of foam protection means no annoying pressure points
What We Didn’t Like:
-Biofoam quick snaps do not all stay secure and rattle while riding
-Hinged shoulders have stops that push Flux up when riding with elbows up
-Fits, but does not work well with Leatt brace, pushing the brace up when elbows are up
What We Really Think:
In moto, you can never be too safe, so we are all for innovative protection and the EVS Flux provides plenty of coverage for the upper body and shoulders. However, protection that sacrifices rider comfort and maneuverability can pose a hazard in itself. More and more riders are wearing neck braces these days and all chest protector companies should be taking that into consideration. For a rider who does not wear a neck brace, has narrow shoulders and an elbows-down riding style, the EVS Flux is a very good and affordable option. Smaller or removable shoulder guards would make this an excellent product.

As I mentioned, if you do not wear a leatt or neck brace, then this could be a good product for you. But with a neck brace, I pretty much couldn’t move my head at all.

I in-fact am a rider whom was born with the crippling mx disease know as “Elbows Down Syndrome” A.K.A. (EDS). I have been wearing the EVS Flux for over 5 years now and find it to be one of the most comfortable roost available. I too wear a Leatt and have not had any compatibility or comfort issues. Besides the jingle bell snaps, it’s a great protector.
