Valencia, CA – On May 31st, Factory Effex launched a new contingency program with great success. FX was the title sponsor at round 1 of the 2003 CRC Saturday Night Series at LACR Raceway in Palmdale, CA. Instead of offering basic contingency forms, Factory Effex decided to take their event sponsorship to a new level by offering cash contingency for all FX sponsored riders.
Factory Effex offered a pay scale for each class at the event, which each sponsored rider was eligible for. The contingency scale ranged from as little as $20 to $100 per class for overall finishes. Many of our sponsored riders came out to the event looking for their chance as some cash. In the end, Factory Effex paid thousands of dollars in cash contingency for the event.
The cash contingency approach was very different from sponsored events in the past. “When the opportunity to sponsor LACR’s opening round came up, we decided to add some spice to it. We didn’t want to just send out hats and 50% off coupons,” said Chris Williams, FX Rider Support Manager. “We also wanted to take the opportunity to thank our local sponsored riders and all they do for us, and give the rest of the racers there an opportunity to apply for sponsorship with us. Our rider support program is a big part of the company’s marketing focus. This race is just one more way to show our commitment to our riders.”
The event was such a success for Factory Effex that we plan on promoting more cash contingency programs both locally and nationally. Specific details will be announced soon.
