The TransWorld Motocross phones rang today with some very good news. Team Yamaha’s Tim Ferry is planning on returning to action this weekend at the San Diego Supercross, aboard his thundering Brian Kinney-tuned Yamaha YZ426F. Less than two weeks ago, Ferry underwent orthoscopic surgery to repair damage to the meniscus in his knee, but he has rebounded like a true champion. Whether or not Red Dog will race depends on how he feels during Friday’s practice session. If Ferry feels that he needs more time to heal, count him in as a definite entry for Anaheim 2, which is set for January 19th. I’m bummed that I missed the season opener, said Ferry over the phone. But at the same time I am glad that the injury was not as serious as it could have been. I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard the results! What a wild night to be on the sidelines!
