what the hell is with those plastics? looks like a husky but worse. everything else is sick though

  • nate Says:

    nice!

  • crf150r Says:

    the shrouds look gay!

  • jonathan Says:

I can't believe that they finally gave into the twin-spar-ish frame……

  • Travisbarber Says:

Its had a twin spar "perimeter" frame only yamaha didn't make the frame rails as big as the other manufacturers

  • PetRat835 Says:

Really what's the deal with the Shrouds that have the injected texture treatment.. Going to be fun trying to keep graphics to stick there… I am confident someone will make aftermarket shrouds to fix that.. Overall, the bike looks very aggressive; nevertheless, it does share some similar styling cues of a Husky.. Great post! keep up the hard work TW Team!!

  • MX117 Says:

I see a bit of Husqvarna and Aprilia in the bodywork. I like the fact that it's blue, and that it has a carb, but I don't dig the styling.

  • Rafael Says:

    I Didn't like the appearance.

The plastics look awful, to much futuristic for me.

I still think the 06 to 09 are much better looking.

  • gummby85 Says:

That plastic design reminds me of a Husky…Horrible. But everything else seems to be top notch!

  • rider315 Says:

Why develop a new carburetor with fuel injection on the horizon? Love the new look. Perhaps the radiator shrouds won't hook your boots. Definitely prefer the white. Let's see them fo-fities!!!

  • Travisbarber Says:

I guess they probably should just go ahead and take the linkage off or something…

  • Mikey_85 Says:

actually the graphic design although pretty weird looking is in design terms very well thought out, the rad shrouds and air box are textured like grippers and will probably be quite a bit more resilient to wear. function 10/10 looks no so good but definately the bike with the most changes so far gj yamaha

  • who cares Says:

looks like shit and prolly runs like it to just like all the other ones

  • 361 Says:

Why is yamaha living in the past with carbs and 2 smokers?? Seems like they should try to stay up with the compotition and industry

  • christian Says:

havn't won a shootout in a while….hope it has some juice under that future design changes..

  • Honda rocks! Says:

So Gay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Honda is the way to go for sure

  • bored Says:

I really don't know why one should buy this instead of a CRF

  • MX117 Says:

A properly jetted carburetor will work just as well as fuel injection for motocross purposes, and makes the same amount of power. Also, four-strokes are not better that two-strokes, they're bigger. Two-strokes are lighter, cheaper, easier to maintain and make more horsepower per cc than four-strokes. I'm not biased, I've owned a 450 four-stroke and currently a 250 two-stroke. I think four-strokes are great, but I don't think they are better or as fun.

  • znack Says:

what the hell is that?!?! like honestly… its retarded! the shrouds are super thin and it makes the bike look like shit!!! i USE TO love yamaha but… i dont think im into the YZF's no more. I just hope the 450 wont be the same

  • EX-Yamaha lover Says:

znack hit the nail on the head! I'm going back to KTM for 2010, rode yami's from 06-09

  • Dgizzy Says:

you buy that and next year the 250 will be an EFI. Might as well wait!!!

  • DKR Says:

    LAME YAMI SUCKS ASS

  • ridin dirty Says:

"why should u buy this instead of a crf" well geee hmmm…. thats a tough one probably because yamaha is one of the most proven reliable bike brands there is. how fast do the crf valves drop??? how many times do u gotta take that thing in?? i here more about hondas breaking, then all the brands ad known personally the work u have to put into them my freinds a mechanic that works at a honda dealer.valves drop on that thing as if the cyclinder was a freakin magnet pulling them down. iv had my 07 yz250f for 2 years now and not once have the valves dropped in that thing or have i had any problem whats so ever with the engine or bike in general thats why u buy yamaha.

  • mikaelblomgren Says:

Im still crying about the shrouds, otherwise the bike looks good. But hahahaha c´mon japanese enginers, did husky pay you a salary to put that shrouds on ? It makes even aprilia looks good, Why did they destroy a such a otherwise nice machine with stupid look? They will soon not even look like motocross bikes, it looks like a moped shrouds.

  • todd Says:

If you don't maintain it like a hillbilly the valves won't do shit and that is the only weakness of the CRF 250….
Reguarding the brands I've seen lotts of yamahas brake, not so many hondas though…
Plus the CRF is quite faster, cheaper spare parts and even better looking…

  • big boy Says:

i like the shrouds, put sum redbull graphics on their and it wud look sick

  • Billy Bearmshot Says:

    amen…

  • Mikey_85 Says:

also yamaha is beeing smart by having the only 2 strokes available for sale, that makes them the only supplier (and profiter of coarse)

  • Mikey_85 Says:

the only reason your hearing more about the honda's beeing taken in is because SO MUCH MORE PEOPLE HAVE THEM!!! and yes if you look after them their reliable and frankly one of the most maintenance freindly bikes ive ever worked on, cant say the same for the older YAMI's (dont know about this one of course)

  • Jimmy alberta Says:

Because japaneese bikes have to be made 3 years prior to selling…

  • ry629 Says:

you can buy a yamaha not check the valves for 100 hours and be fine. but if you like checking your valves every week then go ahead and buy a honda.

  • ry629 Says:

everyone says it looks stupid now but wait 6 months after it comes out and people will be drooling over it.

  • rabbit Says:

end of the day its how good u can ride it, less time crying, buy 1 or dont simple

  • joseph Says:

    when aviable in stores???:$
