Fork-Rent Suzuki Press Release – Grand Prix of Sweden

Team Fork-Rent Suzuki rider Jason Dougan produced yet another solid performance in Uddevalla at the Grand Prix of Sweden. Jason succeeded in finishing as the top Suzuki MX2 rider in Sweden and in doing so picked up seventeen points to finish 14th overall. Younger team mate Jake Nicholls also showed yet more great promise by picking up four more world championship points to add to his tally.

Jason had a storming qualifying session on Saturday and romped into the main MX2 races in 8th position while Jake had to dig deep in the LCQ to finish in a well deserved 3rd place – which secured his race spot on the Sunday for the main event.

On the Sunday morning both riders were itching to hit the track, both riders didn’t have the best of starts but put in solid performances in moto one with Jason finishing in 14th and Jake 19th – both scoring world championship points.

In race two it was an action replay of the first, with both riders in the top fifteen on lap one.
Jake had to contend with a fallen rider which lost him valuable places but he stuck to his guns and finished is a solid 19th position.

Meanwhile Jason moved up to 11th and was battling with a group of riders for a top ten finish, after battling with Carl Nunn for a few laps Jason just missed out on his top ten place but still managed to obtain the 7th fastest lap of the day.

Team Manager – Mark Chamberlain

“I’m pleased with the weekend I think the boys rode well on what was a really tough track. The fact that they aren’t that happy with the result shows the progress that has been made.
Four starts and four point scoring races is a very positive weekend for the team.
The bikes are working well and we are looking forward to racing at Whitby this weekend”
