Four Strokes Return to U.S. Open Inside MGM Grand

The world’s greatest four-stroke motocross racers return to the legendary MGM Grand Garden Arena for the coveted Four Stroke Shootout at the U.S. Open for the third-consecutive season October 11-12. The popularity of the four-stroke motorcycle has taken indoor motocross racing to a new level, forcing riders to throw around the big-bored machine on one of the most technical courses ever built.

Last year’s edition saw X-Games snowmobile champion Blair Morgan, who is also a supercross standout and member of the Blackfoot Honda team, edge-out 2000 champion Kelly Smith and four stroke genius Craig Decker in front of a sold out crowd. This is one of six headlining events built into the U.S. Open in 2002.

“The four stroke technology has come a long way, forcing the competition to be on top of their game,” said Eric Peronnard, founder, U.S. Open. “Some of the biggest names in racing will be in Las Vegas to compete for this prestigious championship. “Tickets for Las Vegas MGM Grand’s 5th Annual U.S. Open (October 11-12,2002), and the 2nd Annual Amateur Arenacross World Finals (October 13,2002), are currently on-sale.
