July 23, 2007 — With a shared emphasis on exposing emerging artists to a wider audience, FUEL TV has partnered with Music Nation to provide a feature performance on its original daily series “The Daily Habit to the online rock competition’s talented winner. This hard working and worthy artist will also receive a recording contract signed jointly by Epic Records and Original Signal Recordings — Music Nation’s label arm — among other prizes.
The action sports network’s first original daily series, “The Daily Habit is FUEL TV’s outlet for highlighting top pop culture stories, the best in action sports personalities, groundbreaking music, and comedy. Each episode delivers celebrity guests, action-sports athletes, and new music by independent artists from all genres including the likes of Art Brut, Dinosaur Jr., Circa Survive, and Jose Gonzalez. In teaming up with Music Nation, the artist development company with the online home for independent music, FUEL TV will be able to help break an up-and-coming rock artist to its eager viewing audience.
“Music Nation is a terrific forum for emerging artists to get noticed, says Daryl Berg, FUEL TV’s Director, Music Supervision and Licensing. “Because Fuel TV is also focused on presenting emerging artists, this is an excellent opportunity for both of us to discover and share exciting new talent.
“While looking for a TV network partner in our rock competition, we wanted to find a channel that shares the same passion for independent artists as we do, said Daniel Klaus, Music Nation co-founder and CEO. “The Daily Habit has a history of promoting cutting-edge music, which makes it a great fit for Music Nation. We work harder than anyone else to provide the best opportunities possible for our winning artists.
Music Nation’s second rock competition launched on June 18th and will run for 12 weeks, offering self-empowered unsigned artists the chance to gain the recognition they strive for and deserve. Each week the public votes together with Music Nation’s judges — Dave Allen, Gang of Four bassist; Andy Gershon, executive vice president of Epic Records; and Carrie Schupper, music program manager for Gen Art — to determine which artists will move into the quarterfinals. At the end of the final three weeks of competition, one winner will be chosen to receive the Original Signal Recordings/Epic Records contract and the FUEL TV performance, among myriad other prizes.
