Hamblin to Miss Red Bud This Weekend

Sidelined by a dislocated elbow, No. 36 plans to return at Unadilla

Murrieta, CA (July 1, 2004) ¿ Team Suzuki¿s Sean Hamblin will miss Red Bud this weekend. The 21-year-old Murrieta resident dislocated his elbow during the start of the first moto last weekend at Budds Creek.

¿I¿ve consulted with my doctor, my team manager and my agent. Everyone agrees it would be best for me to sit out for Red Bud,¿ said a disappointed Hamblin. ¿I¿m healing well, but this is a serious injury and if my elbow dislocates again during this critical time, I¿ll have to sit out the rest of the summer. I tried riding yesterday at Elsinore and I was really struggling with landing jumps. Since we have a week off after Red Bud, I¿m confident I¿ll be ready to go for Unadilla.¿

Prior to sustaining his injury at Budds Creek, Hamblin was fourth in the 250cc point standings. The fast Californian earned top two-stroke honors in two of the three outdoor rounds in which he competed this season.
