AMA National and Regional Arenacross Series boasts more than a quarter million dollars in Honda contingency money
AURORA,Ill., (October 5, 2005) ¿ The world¿s top manufacturer of off-road motorcycles ¿ American Honda Motor Co., Inc. ¿ today announced it will back the AMA National and Regional Arenacross Series with a record amount of contingency money totaling more than a quarter million dollars.
¿I think this clearly sends a message out to the racers that ride Honda that there¿s an opportunity to make a lot of money racing the AMA National and Regional Arenacross Series,¿ said Todd Jendro, senior director of operations for Clear Channel Entertainment¿s Motorsports division. ¿The Honda Rider¿s Club of America and Red Rider Rewards Contingency have always played a major role in the success of the AMA National and Regional Arenacross Series, and has backed that up by posting the largest-ever contingency purse in the history of the AMA National Arenacross Series.¿
As it stands, Honda Red Rider Rewards will post a total of $140,600 to the Honda-mounted pro racers in the AMA National and Regional Arenacross Series, while posting $87,100 to the amateurs sector. The combined $227,700 ¿ more than a quarter million in Honda Red Rider Rewards Contingency money ¿ is again the greatest contingency posting ever in AMA National and Regional Arenacross Series.
¿Honda motorcycles have enjoyed a great deal of success not only on the showroom floors, but also in off-road racing competition throughout the country,¿ said Bill Savino, assistant manager of the Honda Riders Club for American Honda, ¿The Honda Red Rider Rewards program returns the commitment to Honda racers in the form of contingencies. With the AMA National Arenacross Series, pro racers riding a Honda have an opportunity to bring home $2,000 cash per night by winning the AMA Arenacross class (250cc). We hope this attracts legions of Honda-mounted racers to the AMA National Arenacross Series.¿
