POD MX KNEE BRACES
APPLICATION: Knee protection
SIZES: S-XXL (recommended that sizing be done at an authorized POD MX dealership)
PRICE: $749.95 (as a pair), $399.95 (per single brace)
KEY FEATURES:
-Polymer Hinge System that uses Synthetic ligaments that function like a human knee
-Self-tracking patella guard that transfers impacts through the brace and away from the knee
-Low-profile carbon composite frame that is strong and lightweight
-Straps are designed to resist brace movement and migration, keeping the brace where you want it while riding
-Anti-bacterial moisture wicking liner that can be removed for washing
-POD MX braces are covered by most insurance plans
WHAT WE LIKED:
-Knee cup is comfortable and does a great job at protecting in the event of a crash
-Overall the braces are very comfortable and are the closest to custom for off-the-shelf braces that we’ve tested
-Hinge is smooth and it’s nice to have different sized Synthetic ligaments to choose from in order to limit the amount of movement at the hinge
-Braces are very lightweight
-Carbon frame is durable and strong
-For riders that run their braces tight, the straps can be tightened down without discomfort
-The added protective guards, which are connected to the frame and sit on the top and bottom of the patella cup, give extra protection where not many knee braces do
WHAT WE DIDN’T LIKE:
-The Velcro straps can move around at times while riding
-Additional pad on straps tends to fall off. It would be nice if this was built into the strap itself
WHAT WE REALLY THINK:
If you are in the market for knee protection, but don’t want to break the bank and spend the extra dough on custom braces, look no further than the POD MX knee brace. Of the braces we’ve tested over the years, the POD MX brace is by far the most comfortable and lightweight off-the-shelf brace we’ve put on. It’s also durable, and believe us when we say it, we’ve crashed tested the braces a couple times already and they have done their job.

hey, asterisks are pretty damn good and i used to wear them too. BUT MAKE SURE YOU SERVICE THEM. change out the joints every now and then, because i had mine for just a year and didn't service them and i tore my ACL, MCL, and Meniscus in one good fall… Now i wear prescription braces..

I wonder if these are better than or worse than my evs web braces. I've had these for ever. I've changed out so many hinges and bolts. braces are just so expensive. I'd love some cti's but medical aint having it

Just try a pair on and you will see why TWMX says these are the most comfortable braces they have ever worn.

I have worn them all and nothing compares to the PODS. Both Asterisk and EVS have to be serviced and sent in for repairs. I have over a 3 years on the olds PODS and no issues what so ever. Pods can be re-built by you for a fraction of the cost as the others.

I tore my ACL completely in the Asteriks, they flex past hyperextension, try it. I have the old PODs and they feel much better against the bike, and I just have the 20 degree lockouts, do I dont buckle my other knee…
