SPEED Channel is taking race fans behind the scenes to take a look at the life and times of a professional motocross team during the 2005 AMA Supercross Season. The Reality of Speed follows the daily life of the riders, mechanics and management at Team Samsung Wireless from the first week of January heading to the first round in Anaheim, to the final round in Las Vegas. From podium visits to hospital visits, fans will get to see what it takes to make it in the most physically demanding sport in the world, competing against the very best racers in the world.
“People watch a motocross race and the pros make it look so easy, said Robert Ecker, SPEED Channel VP of Programming. ” The Reality of Speed is going to show viewers the level of intensity that it takes to make it look that easy, and fans are going to be surprised to see what it really takes to make it as a professional motocross racer.
“It is great to be able to share with fans what life is like Monday through Saturday for a race team, stated Michael Holigan, owner of Team Samsung Wireless and producer of The Reality of Speed . “I think a lot of fans think you practice a little during the week, get flown to the races, get to be a rock star in front of 50,000 fans on Saturday night, and then cash a big check on Monday. Boy, are they going to be surprised.
The Reality of Speed joins the SPEED Channel lineup in July. Stay tuned for day and time.
