Sources told us today that Jeff Alessi and Jimmy Albertson will race Washougal (or very soon after) aboard factory Red Bull Hondas.
Albertson has been riding a North Racing Inc./Factory Connection-backed Honda while Alessi has been pitting under the Wonder Warthog Racing privateer tent.
More to come as the story develops…

they deserve it
July 23rd, 2008 at 7:29 pm
I hope Jeff can finish in the top ten (five?) and land a spot there. His luck has sucked since he and Mike left Honda.
July 23rd, 2008 at 7:35 pm
Saw that coming a mile away.
July 23rd, 2008 at 7:36 pm
They both definetly deserve it! Very smart of Honda. What a break.
July 23rd, 2008 at 9:22 pm
Alessi is barely a top 10 guy even with all the talent missing right now. Hami was putting to him on a stock yami for the first 5 races and Cooper (holy cow!). Plus Alessi is a punk. Watched him start a fight with a local who was beating him right before the nationals started. What’s that about?
For Alby, that’s cool.

well you have some info right , some info wrong .
yes they were testing factory bikes at milestone today , tho neither have been given factory rides …well not yet ..
and for sure they will NOT BE ON FACTORY BIKE AT WASHOUGAL ..
however one or both may be chosen for millville and the last two nationals afterwards
now that is the real story

I hope jeff gets the ridf I think he will show them what he can really do. peace!

I can think of several riders who deserve this more than Jeff Alessi. That whole family just sucks. I have been sick of them ever since “Believe The Hype” Mike is a whiny ass and Jeff is a “never going to be”!! He just does not have it. Nick Wey has 3 times the talent Jeff Alessi does and I never saw Honda putting him in the Rig like he deserved!!
July 24th, 2008 at 1:28 am
What is wrong with some of you people?
I think Jeff more then deserves a tryout
with RedBull Honda due to the fact that he
has been the 2nd highest placing Honda rider
as well as Jimmy. I think Honda needs to have
riders out there representing their sponsor’s
name. A lot of you need to understand that
most of these professional SX/MX racers are
kids and or young adults and will make verbal
mistakes in this adult world.
So those of you that are writing (Ray and open class
or should I say No-class) “Grow-up”
Plus…I think that RockStar/Makita Suzuki should
give DV’s ride to Cody Cooper
and
YOT Boost Mobile Yamaha should give either Zack or
Jason’s ride to Kyle Cunningham (Again) to also
help that team with sponsorship exsposure!

I believe Antonio Balbi is better what Jeff Alessi. The Brasilian Guy have talent
July 24th, 2008 at 7:15 am
That is it !!! Balbi is the man to ride Honda factory.
He’s improving a lot and have a talente and dedication to deserve it.
And Brazil is a big market to Honda …..
July 24th, 2008 at 10:43 am
4 sure Balbi is the guy to be on that factory Honda. Look what he did last weekend!5th overal 4th at mto 2…
July 24th, 2008 at 11:23 am
Sweet! I would like to see Jeff get a ride. Honda needs to spend there big budget somewhere anyway!

screw all you guys. Jeff Alessi has a ton of talent but hasnt been able to show much of it because of him not having a factory ride. He deserves it more than anyone!!!
July 24th, 2008 at 12:03 pm
I
wonder if I could switch gears and ask any /
all what would you like to see in a motocross movie
we all know how lame Supercross the movie was any thoughts ?
July 24th, 2008 at 1:11 pm
Had a Factory KTM ride and did crap with it! Get over him Jeff is a hot head and a baby and not fast enough (like mike) for anyone to want to deal with him. If Mike was not as fast as he was the Factories would not touch him. Remember they were both supposed to be factory Honda but there antics got them dropped and KTM picked them up.
Sheesh people quit making excuses for bad behavoir when there are a lot of guys out there doing it right!
July 24th, 2008 at 2:55 pm
Jimmy’s a freekin legend none of u guys r even talkin bout him he deserves it way more than an alessi they have already had their chances
July 24th, 2008 at 2:56 pm

July 24th, 2008 at 4:31 pm
ray is a douche that thinks people never change. believe the hype wasnt even there idea jachass.
July 24th, 2008 at 5:08 pm
All you shit talkers are whack. Dont be jealous cuz you dont have the ride. Im gonna laugh when Jeff starts runnin top 5’s. You go train as hard as anyone on the circuit and tell me you dont deserve the ride….Anyone that qualifies for a national will probably smoke you so just shut up. HAHAHA TWMX is the shit.
July 24th, 2008 at 5:10 pm
Hells Ya Go Jimmy. he def deserves it more than Jeff.
July 24th, 2008 at 5:11 pm
And Jimmy has been up there his whole life and hasnt gotten the chance to a team, so therefore he deserves it….
July 24th, 2008 at 5:50 pm
OK lets all look at this for what it is. Two young talented kids. Honda, a team with 3 riders gone and 3 extra bikes. why not give two kids a shot on a factory bike see what they can do and from a team and manufactuer stand point look like the good guys. Lets be honets there are 3 bikes that are not going anywhere with no one on them. Be happy for these kids and there oppurtunity wish them well and lets hope to see some good racing. Because at this point unless you put someone rocket no one has come close to #7 and RV. good luck Jimmy and Jeff.
July 24th, 2008 at 7:15 pm
Jeff Alessi doesn’t deserve that ride… All he’ll do is start fights with locals who are faster than him. He also complains non-stop if something doesn’t go his way.
July 25th, 2008 at 12:28 am
Everyone is forgetting that theres at least 10 top riders out due to injuries. If they where all heathly Jeff wouldnt even be in the top 15. Jeff is a straight up joke but whatever he will not be doing anything with his factory ride. So when is Cody Cooper getting his factory spot!? He deserves the ride more then anyone out there!
July 25th, 2008 at 2:40 am
How can Honda Afford anymore people? Millsaps, Townley, Short, Tedesco? You gotta be kiddin me that they are going to sign on two more even as replacements. I know that they are Honda and all, but when was the last time Honda won a national? I doubt these two kids will be able to pull in Stewart, they might get top 5’s but only because half the field is now injured.
July 25th, 2008 at 7:34 am
Give them a shot why not, If not me then for sure them. lol
July 25th, 2008 at 11:20 am
Balbi is the man! Alessi in Moto xxx and Balbi on Red Bull Honda! Go Balbi!
July 25th, 2008 at 1:34 pm
James Stewart to Honda 2009?? hmmm
July 25th, 2008 at 3:49 pm
bullshit honda cant afford stewart
July 26th, 2008 at 7:52 am
Bro stewart is already signed to L&M and they are like 99% to be yamaha and they were gonna sign chad first but the contract they offered him “wasn’t enough” but stewart got the same one and took it. So chad is the one no one can afford? And Alby deserves the ride on honda but jeff? No way dude he came to a local race a year or two ago and finished like 4th overall to a bunch of locals and got pissed about it and started picking fights… it should definantly be balbi and alby all day man.
July 26th, 2008 at 8:59 am
Stewart has already inked a deal to race for L&M racing, and the rumors have him riding a Suzuki next year, and Reed will be racing for the factory Makita Suzuki team. This sounds strange I know, but thats what the inside noise is. Imagine these two both on suzuki?
I cant imagine why Honda could not afford Stewart….
I hope Alby deserves it more, In my opinion, He is a rookie with only 9 or so pro races under his belt. Lets see if putting him on a factory Honda will improve that. Jeff had his shot at a factory bike when he was with KTM. and you cant blame the bike because Mike was awesome on that bike.
July 26th, 2008 at 11:04 am
I talked to jeremy albreicht at the unadilla national and he was saying L&M was staying blue? Maybe they might go to the Zooks but i dont see why they would yamaha and L&M werent on bad terms?
July 26th, 2008 at 5:51 pm
you guys are all talking without knowing…jeff is one of the nicest people on the tour. i hung out with him all day at unadilla even after his getoff in the first moto, he was completely cool about everything. The hype around that family has always been about mike, now it’s jeff’s turn to show what he can do. He is tallented and just needs a chance. As far as Albertson he definetly deserves the ride as well. Will someone give cody cooper a ride already?!!?!? that kid deserves it more then anyone.
July 26th, 2008 at 7:18 pm
I actually liked def leopard
July 26th, 2008 at 7:24 pm
stewart and l&m will most likly be on honda why? well lets see who has the most money ,which bike is the best , neither the manufacture or l&m are dumb this is the best choice for both !
gurly
July 26th, 2008 at 7:56 pm
Honeslty i think yamaha is the best…hondas are real good to but not for nothing the 08 yz450f is undefeated thus far haha but really honda already has a ton of support rides to pay for plus theyre factory team and now two more riders. Honda may have the most money but i dont know if they are gonna go that deep in the sock to grab another two riders becuase L&M doesnt jsut come with stewart, someone has to fill the number two spot?
July 27th, 2008 at 7:25 pm
I can’t speak for Alessi, but I can for Albertson. Seeing and interacting with Jimmy and his brother/mechanic, Gregg, at the races in Missouri and Oklahoma was ALWAYS a pleasant experience. As I recall Jimmy was always a humble racer, and knowing his character on and off the track, Honda could never go wrong with the the Albertsons, assuming Gregg remains his mechanic. Perhaps , as a person who has been a resource and opportunity starved underdog, Jimmy is able to appreciate and utilize a factory ride more. I guess we’ll see. He just edged out Alessi at Washougal today!! Git’r dun Jimmy!!
July 28th, 2008 at 7:43 am
I couldn’t agree more that Jimmy deserves the Honda ride. I’ve known the whole Albertson family for years and a more dedicated and deserving moto family you will not find anywhere. From the amature’s to the pro’s, Jimmy has been a loving, caring, respectful young man (good job Jennie, you done good with BOTH the boys) as well as an agressive, clean, and sportsmanlike competitor (good job Brian for teaching them right and wrong)Honda doesn’t know yet what a benifit Jimmy will be to the company and the team…but they will…
GO JIMMY!
July 28th, 2008 at 1:14 pm
every pro rider deserves a shot on a factory team..lets face it, some are more deserving than others, but to be a pro rider at their level, I think they all deserve a shot. Its how the company wants to be represented. j-law is screwing up.
Honda has the cash to buy any rider, and they can make room for Stewart if needed. But the L&M is a good possibilty..no doubt.
Let the silly season begin!!
July 28th, 2008 at 11:02 pm
Jeff has really stepped it up this year, he deserves the ride.
July 29th, 2008 at 10:37 pm
Ray and Andy are both Idiots.. you dont know anything about there familly except for some bull crap you probably overheard somebody say. I would like to know why they dont deserve it? you must not know how dedicated there entire familly is to motocross? Jeff and mike are amazing riders. But i guess Honda is stupid and they dont know what there doing? Or just maybe they know a little bit better than most of you?
