If you’d have said fifteen years ago that motocross racers and freestyle riders would someday have a signature shoe with brands like etnies, you’d have been labeled insane. Having shoes designed around your personal style had long been reserved for only the most popular skateboarders, and dirt bike riders were stoked just to get some product and sticker flowed their way. Fast-forward to the present day, when motocross ranks as one of the biggest disciplines of the action sports market and having a pair of shoes bare your name is standard for the icons like Ryan Villopoto, Travis Pastrana, Trey Canard, and Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg. The aforementioned guys all have new kicks set to hit retail shelves this holiday season, with the new Twitch/DBK/etnies line being one of the most anticipated. We stopped by the etnies home office in Lake Forest, California, last week to see the new models that the freestyle hero and Sole Tech designers have pieced together, and came away plenty impressed by the final product.
Twitch has refined his style over the last few years and his tastes for something slimmer is evident in his new Jameson shoe. Slim, black, and full of hidden details, it’s a perfect representation of Stenberg’s personality.
The success of his new Dirt Bike Kidz line inspired etnies to launch a collab project on the blank canvas of the widely popular Fader LS, which is sure to be a hit with fans of the DBK crew and videos.
