With a dominant performance at the Glen Helen Invitational SX a few weekends ago, we couldn’t help but wonder if Grant Langston was planning on tuning up for the Eastern Region 125cc Supercross Championship Series by racing a 250cc round or two. Though our favorite South African did report that he would be racing a few 250cc events, none of them will be before the East Coast series opener in Indy.
“I haven’t even started testing yet for the 125 race in Indy,” said Langston. “My shoulders have healed up quite well, but I am still not going to rush things. I raced the Glen Helen event just for fun and didn’t take it too seriously.”
We asked Grant if he would race the KTM 200SX that Brock Sellards piloted at the US Open in October, and he replied, “Yes, there’s a good chance that I’ll race that bike or a newer version. There’ also an outside chance that I might race a new 250SX!”
Langston reported that he plans on racing the Houston, Salt Lake City and Dallas rounds in the 250cc class. When asked who he though would be his toughest competition in the 125cc East series, Grant immediately replied, “Chad Reed. Did you see how fast he was going at Anaheim?”
Stay tuned for a more detailed interview with Langston in coming weeks, plus photos of the #111 rider in action.
