Team Yamaha’s Grant Langston just phoned Swap to check in after his scary crash in this Saturday’s Anaheim 1 season opener.
“I’m a bit banged up and sore,” said Cool G, who ran as high as fifth in the Supercross main event. “I came down on the finish line jump and clipped a Tuff Block with the front end, and it basically just pitched me off instantly. I came down on my head and shoulder, and I also collected the handlebars in my chest on the way down. I’m sore and I won’t ride today, but I will definitely be at Phoenix.”
Langston ran as high as fifth behind James Stewart, Ricky Carmichael, Chad Reed and Michael Byrne before tipping over and dropping to 10th while trying an inside pass on Byrne.
“I was getting frustrated, because Byrne was weaving left and right, blocking me from doing some jump combinations that he was not doing,” said Langston. “I came in the inside of him and applied too much rear brake and slid out. I felt really good considering it was my first race in nearly six months.”
Langston was in sixth when he crashed out on lap 13.
