World’s most successful 50cc minicycles absolutely dominate 50cc classes at Gainsville
NORTH LIMA, Ohio, (Dec. 1, 2004) — With one of the most successful performances by any brand of bike ever at the Mini O’s at Gatorback Cycle Park in Gainsville, Fla., Cobra Motorcycles ran away with all the prizes — sweeping all four 50cc class races in both the motocross and supercross divisions, while also capturing both 50cc Olympiad titles this past weekend.
In all, two different Cobra-mounted riders won the coveted Olympiad Championship trophy (overall MX/SX winners). They include: Max Tannenbaum (Lilburn, Ga.) in the 7-8 age group and Connor Mitchell (Oregon City, Ore.) in the 4-6 age group. Also winning a division on a Cobra (7-8 50cc SX) was Tyler McSwain (Shelby, N.C).
Bottom line: Cobra swept every class and Cobra-mounted riders represented 75-percent of the top ten 50cc Olympiad finishers throughout the entire competition.
“We couldn’t be happier with our riders’ performances this past weekend in Florida, said Sean Hilbert, president of Cobra Motorcycles. “Our current team members put up the numbers we figured they would and we were pleasantly surprised by the performances from several newcomers. All-in-all it was another weekend for the record books for Cobra.
