Mammoth Mountain, CA — June 24, 2007 — TMX’s Alisa Nix goes 3-1 for a mammoth win at the 2007 Ford Mammoth Motocross.
Alisa got off to a mediocre start and began working her way up in the pack as she charged up the hill and passing a few others in the first turn by taking the inside line. Alisa moved into first for a short period of time before getting passed by Tarah Geiger and later Jessica Patterson for a 3rd place finish in the first moto.
Alisa took the holeshot and lead the first lap, falling back behind Tarah and Jessica for the majority of the 2nd moto. Towards the end of the moto Tarah and Jessica ended up going down and Alisa was able to avoid them and take first to finish with the overall. Elizabeth Bash taking 2nd overall and Tarah Geiger finishing with a 3rd overall.
“The Mammoth Motocross race is not only the longest continuous running motocross race in US history, it is also one of the few non WMA races that offer women a pro class, making it one of my favorite races of the year. I really enjoy it because it brings out a lot of the champs from previous years as well as the top riders of today. Said Nix. “I hope the tradition continues in years to come.
