March of Dimes 2007 RIDE

Click the flyer to the right for more information.

Ride is one of the fastest growing and more popular March of Dimes sponsored events (our National Sponsor is Kawasaki USA). In 2005, more than 90 RIDEs took place, with over 30,000 riders participating and raising more than $2 million. This is a great event for club riders, new riders and families. Most of the RIDEs nationally occur in late summer/early Fall. As mentioned on the PSA, those interested in taking place in a RIDE where they live can find the information by visiting our website www.marchofdimesride.org

The funds raised at RIDE events will go towards the March of Dimes mission of saving babies. In 2003, the March of Dimes kicked off a multi-year Prematurity Campaign to address the increasing rate of premature birth. Prematurity is the leading cause of newborn death – accounting for 25 percent of deaths in the first month of life. Also, the annual societal economic cost from birth through early childhood for a premature baby in the United States is $26.2 billion. This is why the Prematurity Campaign is a major theme of RIDE for 2007.
