The opening round of the 2008 Masters of Mini Series charged right in where it left off. 150 riders showed up making up 316 entries for the Tuesday evening opening round at the Annual Marshfield Fair in Marshfield MA.
The event was almost rained out as a freak thunderstorm dumped almost 2 inches of rain in 20 minutes at lunchtime. The track was only half completed and registration wasn’t even open yet and everything was underwater. The track crew worked overtime to make an amazing track that held up the entire night. Practice was a little muddy and wet but the track crew did a quick clean-up before racing started, and the track was perfect.

The racing started with qualifiers in 8 out of the 12 classes. The biggest class of the night was the 10/12 Open which saw 50 entries forcing 3 heat races and 2 LCQs before getting down to the 18 man main event.
Riders came from all over as usual but MoM saw riders coming from Canada, PA, OH, NV, and even CA.
The next round is Rocky Hill, CT – the oldest track on the MoM circuit and arguably one of the rider’s favorites. Sunday September 14th, Rocky Hill, CT. Pre registration is open until Monday September 8th – Pre register and save yourself some time and get an extra practice. Day of Sign ups are from 9-1030am, practice at 11am and racing starts at 1230pm. Come join the fun!

Wanted to say thanks for the effort you guys and gals!! put into these races every year.
Kudos to all of you! Hopefully there wont be any rain @ round 2!!
Oh yeah, I saw that guy on the Z…what about the fool w/ shorts, sneakers, no shirt, no gloves,but he had a $600.00 Arai helmet on??
That sort of thing needs to be looked at a little closer next year.
