Maxxis U.S. Open Title Sponsors for Race Classes Announced

Alpinestars 250cc Pro Class; Pro-Circuit 125cc Pro Class; 85cc Class; KTM Junior Supercross

LAS VEGAS (August 22, 2003) – Clear Channel Entertainment’s Motor Sports division announced today the title sponsors of the racing classes for the Maxxis U.S. Open at the MGM Grand Garden Arena October 10-12. Alpinestars will sponsor the 250cc Pro Class; Pro-Circuit the 125cc Pro Class; the 85cc class; the KTM Junior Supercross.

“We added another pro class to the Maxxis U.S. Open to give fans a better caliber of racing,” said Todd Jendro, director of the Maxxis U.S. Open. “By having the Pro Circuit 125cc Pro Class, fans will get more bang for their buck. In addition, the 125cc class has an abundance of talent and will put on a great show.”

The Maxxis U.S. Open, founded in 1998 is an invitation-only motocross race held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, featuring the world’s top supercross/motocross racers competing for $300,000 – the single largest payout in motorcycle racing. In addition to the premier open class of racing, the Maxxis U.S. Open also offers a variety of racing including minicycles and KTM Junior Supercross Challenge racing. Past winners include: Damon Huffman (’98); Jeff Emig (’99); Ricky Carmichael (’00&’01); Mike LaRocco (’02).
