Corona, CA (12/16/05) ¿ MB1 Suspension is proud to officially announce the introduction of the MB1 Suspension Race Team for 2006. MB1 Suspension will field a two-man 125 West Coast Lites SX team for 2006. According to Mike Battista, MB1 Suspensions Team owner, We are very excited for this new venture for 2006. It is great to have all the support from the sponsors come together for us. I am excited that I can bring all my years of experience and knowledge from Team Honda to build this team into a powerful and strong team for the future. Mike started working for American Showa R&D and was assigned to the Team Honda motocross squad in 1997. Since then, Mike has worked with riders such as: Ricky Carmichael, Kevin Windham, Mike LaRocco, Ryan Hughes, Nathan Ramsey, Ezra Lusk, Ernesto Fonseca, Steve Lamson, Jeremy McGrath, Mickael Pichon, Sebastian Tortelli and many others. Mike has also achieved 4 AMA Supercross and Motocross Championships with Ricky Carmichael in 2002 and 2003, including a undefeated 24-0 winning streak with RC. Mike was also a member of the MX Motocross Des-Nations team and has many Motocross and Supercross victories with Team Honda since 1997!
Ron Wood from Tokyo Mods will head the engine development program for our team as a title sponsor. Ron has worked for Team Kawasaki and Team Honda and brings over 20 years of engine experience and development to our program. Ron has worked with riders like Rick Johnson, Ricky Carmichael to Jeff Emig and Ryan Hughes. He also has worked for TRD (Toyota Racing Development) building race engines for Toyotas Off Road Racers Ivan Stewart and Rod Millen. I am happy to see Ron part of our program for 2006, says MB1 Owner Mike Battista. We have worked together at Team Honda for many years and we are both excited about growing our business bigger into the future together.
Another title sponsor for our team will be Fox Racing. Warren Johnson from Fox has been awesome with helping us put this deal together and we are happy to represent Fox with our racing program. As part of our program, these companies logos will be displayed on all team uniforms, bikes, truck transporter, pit crew uniforms, and all marketing collateral.
The 2 riders fielding our program will be Amateur Sensation Daniel Sani # 86 and Washington’s Ryan Abrigo # 74. Daniel made his pro national debut at Lakewood ,Co in 2005 and finished a impressive 15th in the 1st moto. Ryan Abrigo rode with the MotoSport Outlet Team in 2005 and his best finish last year was a 9th at Seattle SX in the Main event. Both of these riders look forward to taking advantage of the powerful MB1 Team. These riders will be looking to establish a presence in the newly named ¿Lites¿ division. The team will be aboard Honda CRF250s. MB1 Suspension will make its 2006 debut at the AMA Supercross Championships, January 7th in Anaheim,CA.
