Millville National Results

A lot happened this weekend at Millville. Grant Langston pulled a three-point lead over Mike Brown in the point standings. More surprisingly, though, Travis Pastrana quit racing for the remainder of the season. Travis claims he’s feeling well, but is’t in the physical shape he needs to be in to hang with the front runners. Mike Brown will be replacing Travis on the Motocross Des Nations team this year.

Langston got a fifth place start in the first moto, but his two main competitors didn’t have the same such luck. Brown and Pastrana were around 15th. Pastrana and Brown worked their way up to second and third respectively by the half-way point, when Travis decided to pull off the track.

Brock Sellards holeshot the second moto, and Langston followed. Brown was about tenth out of the first turn. Langston made quick work of Sellards, and Brown soon worked his way up to second place, where he would finish. Both Langston and Brown left the rest of the pack. Nate Ramsey finished second, followed by Rodrig Thain and Brock Sellards.

Bad luck struck Shae Bentley again. Shag Nasty crashed in the first moto and broke his leg. This is the third bone that Shae has broken this year. Hopefully, things will turn around for him before the 2002 Supercross season. Shae is one of the nicest guys out there, it’s too bad he keeps getting injured.

RC swept the 250 class at Millville. Two perfect moto finishes have put him 50 points ahead of Kevin Windham. Tim Ferry finished second, but had to fight Windham for it. K-Dub caught and passed Ferry the first moto to finish second, but couldn’t overtake Ferry the second moto. Mike LaRocco rode consistent on the Honda CRF450 to finish 4th overall.

Kevin Windham will be riding in Ryan Hughes’ place at the MX Des Nations. The team looks strong!
