It was an off-weekend for motocross racing, as the Lucas Oils Motocross Championship took a break until next weekend’s race at Spring Creek in Millville, Minnesota. The World Championship of Motocross in Europe is also on hiatus until August, so we were left to Family Guy reruns and the season premiere of Entourage. Or in Bayodome’s case, it was sifting through some footage he shot of the pros putting in laps last week at Milestone Ranch MX Park in Riverside, California. So, with no racing to review, let’s check out how the guys are riding during their midweek practice sessions…

Here’s how it stands in the Lucas Oils Motocross Championship half way through the season. Through six rounds, Chad Reed and Christophe Pourcel remain at the top of their respective classes, but neither have a very commanding lead. The Honda Red Bull Racing duo of Andrew Short and Ivan Tedesco have closed in on Reed’s lead, and JGR-backed Josh Grant isn’t far behind after his first overall win at Red Bud. Ryan Dungey is nipping at Pourcel’s points lead in the 250 class, while Tommy Searle sits a more distant third.

Spring Creek will kick off the second half of this exciting season this weekend. Be sure to check out all the coverage, including the race report and Kickstart here on TransWorldMX.com.

    Reed's a cry-baby.

  • Matt Says:

Haha your a cry baby. He tells it like it is.

  • The Truth Says:

Seriously. All you Reed haters need to come up with somethin new. The crybaby sh^! is gettin old, and you know it. You guys know he doesnt cry about not winnin hes just disappointed. Bubba is the same way, but in my opinion Bubba is a lot worse bc he will stomp of the track in a tantrum like a 5 year old kid and not do a interview. So please try to find somethin else to bitch about . You guys should be happy that you have one hell of a championship race to watch in both classes and not a lets watch this single guy ride 30+2 by his self as if it were practice. This is the best series in a long time and it couldnt be better. And dont say if Bubba was there it would be the greatest bc it wouldnt be, and you know it. Just be another runaway . So just be happy and stop lookin for stuff to bitch about.

  • dingal Says:

he tells it like he THINKS it is through his eyes, the only problem is with all those tears he cant see reality. he"s been all messed up anyway since he saw decoster and ellie getting together.

  • onefishstick Says:

Dungey better work on his starts and beat Pourcel. Is he getting too heavy to pull off good starts? Next year the 450 class is going to be good. The racing is good now, but having #7,2,800,10,33,22 on the track all at once sounds like a fairytale to me. Can't wait.

  • mxfanatic255 Says:

Funny how labeling someone a "Cry Baby" is in actuallity self loathing behavior! I'd like to see you little punks when you loose a race important (or in reality probably not) to you! WE ALL (self included) are disappointed when we don't perform as well as we expected or wished to do. Winning any Championship at ANY level is difficult enough, but on a National level, we can't even begin to fathom that type of pressure!!! So BACK OFF! I've never been a Reed fan, but watching him the last several seasons, you in good conciousness take away from his efforts and achievments. How may of us have ridden as injured as he has, too push through the pain alone gets points in my book! And remember most off all, that consistency wins Championships not pure speed. And Chad has plenty of that, and I can say I atleast have an appreciation for him now. So he's not the best guy to interview maybe, but I'd like to see you the, "Cry Baby" Labelers put your asses up to the task that top Pros do then see how you handle the same interview,I got $100 says you guys are Jason Lawernce fans………. "I rest my case!"

  • langston103 Says:

well mxfanatic u owe me a $100. im not a jlaw fan or a cry baby fan. js is the fastest, may not be the smoothest at times but still wins races and championships (none the less) after dnfing the first race and still won the championship.

  • thor151 Says:

well said but iam pretty sure j-law is a reed fan he said it himself

  • Slot001 Says:

lol one weekend without a motocross race and its like someone forgot to feed the lions at the zoo

  • 361 Says:

Haha…you know reed is good for everyone to talk about him non stop on every single video, pics, whatever that comes up on this website. It doesnt matter if its like a one on one with J-Law or hot sauce or something…chad reed always comes up. Everyones must be jealous or something. I have alot of respect for the guy and hate to see everyone bashing him. I agree with RMZ26…i got to see reed ride at hangtown. Some guys might be faster that night, but no matter what, reed is always the smarter and smootest racer.

  • stee-j Says:

You obviously do not have a television and obviously have never seen James ever do an interview. How you are correct about how the cghampionships are great and would be competitive if James was in them, your theory about James is completely wrong. At Anahiem One when James made a mistake and Reed got hit/hit him James walked off the track and what did he do? Maybe GIVE AN INTERVIEW to Erin bates after he was just cheated out of the biggest race he had been in in a year. And when Reed o just grabbed his neck what did he do…win then come over and do a video/interview with this fine magazine to discuss the issue so maybe you are the one who has nothing to bitch about buddy!

  • stee-j Says:

Dont forget Canard, Short and Tedesco to just thicken the plot that much more and if Hahn can hold his own also, I can't even imagine the fiasco going on not to mention all the different brands involved too!

  • CM Fade Says:

All you opinionated haters need to relax. It's motocross! We all love it and if you could make it to the pros you wouldn't want all this s _ _ _ talking going on. Let them race it out, best racer wins, Plain & Simple!!!!

  • sucksalot22 Says:

sounds like somebody is getting defensive for that big crybaby he's such a loyal fan to… :(

  • matthew Says:

anyone notice that ricky dietrich was running the number 2 on his jersey?

  • thomas Says:

ricky deitrich is running number two because thats his worcs number and "the truth" your and idiot cuz you said that js7 isnt the greastest then said it woulld be boring if he ws there cuz it would just be another runaway so make up your mind

  • McGinnisMotoX Says:

You said it slot001. All I said was 3 words and look at the sh*t storm it created.

  • McGinnisMotoX Says:

"The Truth" is nobody's bitchin' - your the one runnin' your mouth. you should heed your own advice.

  • McGinnisMotoX Says:

    atta boyee!!!!!!

  • yz125 rider Says:

he is cry baby and he needs to become potty trained because he sucks at ridin
    JS7 rocks

  • yz125 rider Says:

    well said straight up truth

  • yz125 rider Says:

js7 is still better then all of them, he could beat all them losers on a 250 two stroke because its the skill of the rider that determines how fast you go not the bike.

  • hayden190 Says:

    guess what asshole
he didnt know that wuz deitrichs #
