BORKY ADDED TO TROY LEE DESIGNS HONDA

Although the Supercross season is only a little over a month away, our good buddy Sean Borkenhagen gave us a call late last week to tell us he has finally inked himself a deal for the 2009 West Coast Lites Region Supercross series. After a team tryout and a couple of weeks of waiting, Borky has signed up with the Troy Lee Designs Honda team for ’09. “I am so pumped,” Borkenhagen told us. “This is the opportunity I’ve been looking for to prove to everybody that I have what it takes.” Though this will be Borkenhagen’s first-ever Supercross season, he told us he is confident in his ability on a Supercross track and will be doing a lot of testing at the Honda test track in preparation for his debut A1.

DC MOUSTACHE FINALE

DC Shoes’ Nate Adams and Travis Pastrana’s Movember Moustache venture came to a close this weekend. The two moto stars grew MO’s for the entire month of November to help raise money for the Movember Fundraising efforts. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get a final photo of T.P.’s MO before he shaved ‘er off, but we did get this photo of Nate’s mean fu-manchu… pretty rad. Check out the entire progression at www.dcshoes.com/movember.

How the ‘Mo’-vement Began
Movember, an Australian non-profit organization, was born in 2003 when a couple of Australian mates were enjoying a beer at a small bar in Melbourne and decided two things – men’s health issues needed a forum and the moustache was in dire need of a comeback. Their goal was to create a campaign that joined like-minded individuals while raising money for charity and having fun along the way.

Since 2003, Movember has turned into a truly global movement. In 2007, Mo Bros and Mo Sistas in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, and Spain joined their Aussie counterparts by participating in the campaign. Since Movember’s inception, almost 200,000 Mo Bros have sported a Mo and more than $29 million has been raised globally for prostate cancer research, including $740,568 raised in the United States last year. Movember is the biggest international event supporting prostate cancer.
