By now you have probably seen much of what happened this weekend at the X Games. Nevertheless, we would still like to show you what went on behind the scenes. Of course we can’t provide the crazy camera work, nor Cameron Steele’s commentary in the background, but you get the idea. Its hard to believe the X Games have been around for so long, and looking back on the history of it, they have gone through quite a change. When the X Games began, it took place in Providence, Rhode Island, and were originally called the Xtreme Games. They originally hosted everything from street luge and inline skating, to sky surfing…yes, sky surfing. Now all that remains of the original roster are skateboarding and freestyle bmx, with motocross added around 2000 and rally cars only about three years ago. As we would expect, X went big as usual for their 15th anniversary. Enjoy…

Same here. I think when FMX really started picking up steam, it just out shined dirt jump. Moto can go way bigger and the related crashes are huge. Plus when the back flip and its many variations came around, and as tricks continue to progress, they make dirt jump look that much less impressive. I always appreciated it though and think its a shame they got rid of it…jumping that big with no suspension on a small piece of metal takes some brawn!

What happened with JG gettin in his mechanics face in "Super X" ? I understand his bike blew up, but would that be the reason to get in his face? Its not like he did it on purpose. Any word on what that was all about?
