Motocross Industry Goes Bowling for Dollars

WMXF announces details of the First Annual Motobowl, a fundraiser to be held on September 9th; event gives fans the chance to rub elbows with the motocross stars and donate money to the Asterisk Mobile Medical Unit¿s Hats Off Program and other motocross-related charities

Corona, Calif., (August 24, 2004) ¿ The Women¿s Motocross and Supercross Foundation (WMXF) announced more details of the First Annual Motobowl today.

The event will be held on Thursday, September 9th (the week before the Glen Helen National) at Concourse Bowl, 3364 E. La Palma, Anaheim California.

The Motobowl is a bowling fundraiser that will feature motocross celebrities on 40 different teams. Fans, friends and industry representatives will have the opportunity to bid for positions on celebrity-lead teams via an eBay auction. Fans can purchase general admission tickets to the event. General admission tickets are $20 in advance and are available at Tickets can also be purchased for $25 at the door. General admission tickets give fans the opportunity to mingle with the moto stars and include a spaghetti dinner, free arcade games and free raffles.

A silent auction will give fans the opportunity to bid on a variety of items including:

The Women’s Motocross and Supercross Foundation (WMXF) is a non-profit organization (501 c3) founded in 2003 to enhance the motocross/supercross racing community. WMXF¿s mission is four-fold. First, to support to any racer or crew member who suffers injury as a result of participation in or preparation for a professional motocross/supercross event. Second, the foundation provides support to those in the motocross/supercross community who suffer serious misfortune not directly related to competition. Third, WMXF provides financial support to benevolent organizations that support the sport of motocross/supercross. Finally, the foundation serves as a group of women who contribute to the well-being of families in the professional motocross/supercross community. WMXF will promote fellowship among the teams and represent supercross, the outdoor nationals and the entire sport in a beneficial way.
