Motool Slacker Digital Sag Scale | Product Report
If you’re alone at the track, setting your sag can be a difficult proposition. There have been solo sag measurement tools on the market in the past, but none like the Motool Slacker digital sag scale. This new sag-measuring tool makes it very easy to check your sag and get it dialed in perfectly without having to rely on a second person to do so. In addition to the digital display on the Slacker, there is also a supplemental bar-mounted digital display that shows the read out while you’re sitting on the bike. The Slacker easily attaches to the axle with a strong magnet. A cord is then extracted and attached to the number plate—or rear fender—via an easy-to-use universal clamp. In order to attach the Slacker, you simply measure the distance from the axle to the swingarm pivot. That distance is then what is used to determine the point where the clamp is attached to the number plate, by simply extending the measurement up to the number plate from the axle.
-Very easy to use
-Attaching the Slacker to the bike is simple and only takes minutes even if you’ve never used it before
-Digital display is easy to read
-The bar mount is really cool, but not necessary because you can easily read the digital display on the Slacker
-Slacker automatically turns off after five minutes to save battery life
-Universal clamp makes it possible to use the Slacker on just about any motorcycle
-The Slacker is great for checking sag and not having to do the math
-At $100, the Slacker is cheaper than some other solo sag scales on the market
-Even at $100—cheaper than competitors—it might be difficult for an average rider to justify spending the money
-It’s not a huge issue, but it would be really cool to not have a cord leading from the Slacker to the bar-mounted display
Let’s be honest, checking sag is a chore that no one really likes to do, but it’s a chore that’s very important if you want your bike handling properly. While there are other solo sag scales on the market, none of them make it as easy to check your sag alone as the Slacker does. With the vast array of bikes we test here at TWMX, the digital display and easy-to-use nature of the Slacker make it an easy decision to add it to our toolbox.
