After taking on the Supercross-style track of Glen Helen and the muddy hills of Mt. Morris, the riders in the MPN Minibike Nationals presented by the Motorcycle Product News MotoBusiness Off-Road Expo and Motonews.com have had a month off to prepare for the series¿ home stretch. At all of the remaining rounds of the US Chevy Trucks Outdoor Nationals Series, the industry minibike riders will race on Saturday night in pursuit of the inaugural MPN Minibike National Championship. Champions will be crowned in three different classes; 50cc, Midsize and Clutch. Competition thus far has been intense, with some races having full gates of riders. The prestigious race has seen support from riders such as former SX race winner Tallon Vohland of Acerbis, Pro Circuit General Manager Travis Wicks, Michelin¿s Randy Richardson, photo ace Steve Bruhn of Motonews.com and Charlie¿s Angels stuntman and Yamaha factory freestyler Trevor Vines among others.
This week the MPN Minibike Nationals will take place on the Red Bud Stadium track on Saturday night. With practice taking place just after 6 pm, fans in town for the National are encouraged to come watch some of the Industry¿s best¿and worst¿battle it out. In the Midsize class, everyone will be gunning for the #4 ride of Rob Buydos, winner at Mt Morris and current points leader. The 50cc class will see the return of round 1 runner-up and owner of Sano Systems, Ken Johnson, looking for redemption in Michigan. In the clutch class, so far it has been anyone¿s game, all the more reason to come out and watch the action.
