The Muscle Milk TWMX Race Series headed to Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park for round three of the Summer Cup. Racers and spectators showed up in masses to watch the action on the new, exciting track, which was filled with racers throughout the day. To entice pro riders to the event, a 200% payback and $100 holeshot award for both motos was offered to the Open Pro class. With temperatures in the mid-90’s, it was evident that we were in the heart of California summer at the event, but all rose to the added challenge to ride their best.
As with every Muscle Milk TWMX Race Series event, the Lake Elsinore round was highlighted by series sponsors Muscle Milk, entnies, Kal-Gard, Hook It, Leatt-Brace, and MTA. Their presence on vendor’s row allowed racers to purchase anything they would need at the track at a discounted rate. In addition to the retail, etnies, Leatt-Brace, and BTO Sports offered many free prizes to a select lucky few.
The inflated purse of the Open Pro division was enough to grab the attention of Austin Politelli, Nick Paluzzi, and Trent Pugmire. The three riders were at the head of the pack in both 20-minute motos, with Politelli and Pugmire snagging the $100 holeshot bonuses. While the trio may have been close in the opening moments of the race, Austin Politelli distanced himself from the pack in both races to take the overall wins in convincing fashion. This win continued the young Californian’s “summer of money,” as he also won the recent Del-Moto Derby.
The Muscle Milk TWMX Race Series will head to Glen Helen for round four of the Summer Cup on Sunday,August 12th.
