Muscle Milk TWMX Race Series- Winter Cup 2012: Round 5 Competitive Edge MX

Competitive Edge MX hosted the penultimate round of the Muscle Milk TWMX Race Series with a two day finale to bring a close to the Winter Cup races.  The first day of the weekend bought in a packed house to the newly refreshed Competitive Edge track as many series titles were still up for grabs.  There were some racers that had comfortable margins over second place such as the 250F Novice class where Axell Hodges had come out to the previous rounds and built a good lead coming into the final two rounds.  Many other classes still were undecided such as the 40+ Novice class where Kendall Stanley and Kyle Puerner were in close conention for the series title.  With another round the next day, the battles that ensued on the track were an excellent lead to the final round the next day to close the weekend’s racing.

Axell Hodges came to the 5th round of the series looking to build a bigger lead over the rest of the 250F Novice class.

Kyle Puerner needed to overcome a 3 point deficit to take the 40+ Novice class championship. The title could come down to the final race on the following day's closing round.

Stay tuned to for the results from the final rounds of the Winter Cup as well as a recap and photos from Round 6 to be posted soon for the conclusion of the inaugural TWMX Muscle Milk Race Series.
