Muscle Milk TWMX So-Cal Summer Cup Race Series 2013: Comp. Edge MX Park

The closing round of the 2013 So-Cal Summer Cup has officially concluded. The fifth and final round was held in the high desert at Competitive Edge MX Park and the outdoor style MX track really kept everyone of their toes. With a hard-packed base, the dirt tends to dry out quickly, but thanks to the track crew, the tracks were in tip-top shape all day. Being that it was the series’ closing round, it was only fitting that we, again, give out prizes to the top racers in every class. Plus, Thanks to Yamaha, three lucky winners were hand-drawn to bring home a brand new YZ85, a Yamaha brand generator and Yamaha branded EZ-UP. Racing in this series was definitely worth it!

Luke Jacobs and his father were the lucky winners of this new Yamaha YZ 85 courtesy of Yamaha. The bike even came with s bunch of trick aftermarket parts. Congrats Luke!

Vendor row was, again, the happening place this weekend. Series sponsors like BTO Sports came out to keep riders supplied with the goods. Kyle Lewis and the Kal-Gard race support van showed up as well making sure everyone’s machines were running their best with Kal-Gard’s oils, lubricants and cleaners. Maxxis brought out the big guns this weekend and pulled up in their full rider support rig and the EKS Brand goggles gang was supporting racers throughout the day with lens’, tear-offs and goggles along with hats, stickers and T-shirts.

The Hesperia Motocorss track definitely saw its fair share of top class racers, but by far the fastest was TLD/Lucas Oil Honda’s Christian Craig. The lengthy 450 rider put on an absolute clinic in 450 pro and Open-pro by winning all four of the motos. Another rider to do that was the young Jeremy Byrne. Jeremy swept both 250 intermediate and Open (non-pro). The two were absolutely on fire all day. Chris Swanson dominated the 450 novice class and Deegan Burdine did the same aboard his musical 2-stroke in 250 novice.

Congratulations to the champions of the 2013 Muscle Milk TWMX Race Series! 30 of our champions are highlighted on the final page of this post.

Christian Craig made it out to the final round of the So-Cal Summer Cup and racers and spectators alike were treated to a real show when he was out on the track. Christian swept both 450A and Open-pro.

Yamaha rider Jeremy Byrne was another to sweep two separate classes. Byrne took home overall trophies in 250B and Open (non-pro).

Now that the So-Cal Summer Cup has officially ended, that can mean only one thing… the beginning of the Fall race series. We hope to see you at round one of the Fall So-Cal race series, which will be held at Competitive Edge on September 15.
