Just before we headed to Las Vegas for the final round of the 2014 Monster Energy Supercross Series, we received a tip from Oakley PR to head by the company’s flagship store at the Fashion Show Mall and check out their latest project. During the offseason, the eyewear giant and virtual reality upstart Oculus Rift headed to Ryan Villopoto’s Florida compound and followed the multi-time Supercross champion around his practice track. The end result is a video more intense than anything the sport has seen before, as it gives a fully immersive 360-degree experience in the high quality possible.
Oakley has released the footage to the public in their “Airbrake MX 360 with Ryan Villopoto” display and after a handful of test releases, will now tour the country at select rounds of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. We stopped by the store to take a quick look at what the masses can see this summer and came away impressed by the Bell lid, Oakley X Oculus Rift goggle display, and Kawasaki KXF that makes you feel as though you can keep pace with the latest legend in the making…
Catch the Airbrake MX 360 with Ryan Villopoto this summer at one of its many stops during the 2014 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. Full dates and details can be found below.
