Padres To Host Action Sports Day Saturday

Park at the Park to Feature Freestyle Motocross Demonstration; Local Stars Include Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg and Jeff “Full-Tilt” Tilton

SAN DIEGO, CA — Reigning X Games Gold Medalist Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg will headline the third annual San Diego Padres Action Sports Day promotion with a TNT Freestyle Motocross demonstration in the Park at the Park, prior to the Padres-Dodgers game at 7:05 p.m. Executive Vice President/Communications Jeff Overton made the announcement.

In addition to “Twitch”, the FMX line-up will include San Diego native Jeff Tilton, along with X Games Medalist Dustin Miller and Phenom Myles Richmond. The riders will cover more than 75 feet in the air during each jump, soaring to heights of 35-40 feet.

“With an amazing collection of athletes this year, we expect the third annual Action Sports Day Promotion to be bigger and better than ever and a real treat for fans,” said Overton.

The pre-game demonstration will begin at approximately 6:00 p.m. on K Street in the Park at the Park. Admission to the pre-game demonstration is free with a game ticket. Previous Action Sports Days have featured a skate and BMX vert demonstration with legendary skaters Tony Hawk, Bucky Lasek, Pierre Luc Gagnon, FMX shows with Tommy Clowers and Jake Windham and special guests, including world renowned surfer and Cardiff resident Rob Machado.

Metal Mulisha’s “Twitch” from Santee, CA, won the Winter X Games in 2006 with a No Handed Back flip to Sidesaddle landing and also won the Gold in 2005’s Summer X Best Trick. Stenberg will be joined by Jeff Tilton, who was born in Lemon Grove and was nominated as Transworld Rider of the Year in 2003 and 2004. Tilton currently performs in 70 — 80 demonstrations throughout the U.S. each year.

Dustin Miller, who lives in Reno, won a Bronze Medal in the 2005 Winter X Games and is known is known for his technical combos. The 25-year-old Miller has more than 36 IFMA wins to his credit, and has set his sites on winning the Summer X Games this year.

Myles Richmond rounds out the group of riders for the night’s festivities. Richmond finish second in the 2006 IFMA Series and is expected to compete for the title in the Dew Action Sports Tour this summer.

“So Cal Weekend,” which celebrates Southern California culture with a full range of activities, will also feature a Padres pennant giveaway, courtesy of SONY VAIO Computers Friday and Padres Photo Day, presented by SONY Cybershot Digital Cameras on Sunday. Between 11:00 a.m. and noon, all fans in attendance will have the chance to get their pictures taken on the field with their favorite Padres players and coaches. The series finale will also be the fifth giveaway of the homestand as all kids 14 and under receive Padres Photo Cubes presented by SONY Handycam Camcorders.
