Now that the offseason is here, we’ve got some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We’ll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory…
Five years ago, Ryan Villopoto posted a photo of a beautifully restored Kawasaki KX250 two-stroke in his Instagram. The KX was one of James Stewart’s old race bikes, and RV’s mechanic Mike Williamson restored with then-current graphics and gave it to Villopoto, who was sidelined with a knee surgery. Since then, the bike has sat in cold storage, collecting dust. When we saw RV at the MXGP of USA and told him about our TransWorld Motocross Premix movie project, it didn’t take much convincing to get him in! The time we spent filming with RV in the Pacific Northwest was amazing; from the scenery of the area, to the sound of the works two-stroke, to watching Villopoto shred berms with a smile on his face…it was perfect.
TransWorld Motocross Premix drops on Vimeo on Demand on 11.27.15, and will be available for sale on DVD shortly thereafter, just in time for the holidays.
