The Photo of the Week is our newest regular feature here at transworldmx.com. In addition to the usual Wednesday Wallpapers we bring you each week, we will also call out one photo that really caught our eye and give a brief explanation about the shot, and the exposure data. This week’s Photo of the Week features none other than Xyience/MDK/Honda team manager, Steve Lamson.
As you certainly know by now, Steve decided to jump back on a bike and race this weekend, but it wasn’t just any bike that he chose as his weapon for Hangtown. The former National Champ was feeling retro — and maybe just a little bit crazy — and decided on a Honda CR125 to challenge the Lites class, decked-out in the original gear from his 1996 Championship season.
Come race time, Lamson went 33-30 for 36th place overall. Not bad considering he was facing a class full of 250Fs that could easily out-muscle the two-stroke up Hangtown’s hills (and off the start, down long straights, and in the corners…), and the fact that his National Championship title was earned over ten years ago.
In this shot, Lamy is on the gas as he flies past the mechanic’s area during practice on Saturday.
