For the first time in Supercross, the Rodgers Center in Toronto, Canada, opened up their doors on Friday to allow hundreds of SX fans to take a walk on the freshly groomed track. A ticket into the stadium on Saturday meant a once in a lifetime chance for a track walk. Awesome, right? Well, we took part in the festivities and captured some photos to give you a little preview of what’s to come on Saturday.
Gates opened up at 6pm on Friday evening, but when we got to stadium at 5:30, the line was to the streets. Guess we weren’t the only ones that got the inside scoop.
The track inside the Rodgers Center offers a list of obstacles to keep the racing tight. As for the dirt, it’s riddled with rocks, but it’s tacky.
Rocks completely pepper the track in Toronto. Hands guards will be crucial.
The whoops are substantially big, but just from the track walk, they’re already breaking down.
How would you like to have this view from your hotel room? Notice the white windows at the top right? That’s right, these room look right into the stadium.
A pickup kit and a mullet? #winning
Once the track walk was over, Justin Bogle, Justin Barcia, Chad Reed, Marvin Musquin, Ken Roczen, Justin Brayton, Davi Millsaps, Jason Thomas, Kyle Chisholm, Josh Grant, PJ Larsen, and Dean Wilson were on hand to sign some autographs. As you can see, the fans flocked to their tables.
Practice begins at 12:30pm EST tomorrow and we’ll be on hand to bring you updates from the race!
