Tevin Tapia has been a name synonymous with the motocross community ever since he was an amateur. Fast forward a few years and the Tapia family is making their rounds through the Supercross circuit trying to make it happen any way they can for Tevin. Tevin has experience on teams, but wasn’t able to make it onto a team for 2014 due to the struggling industry. However, Tevin has plans to change that by the end of the season.

Why do you struggle as a privateer?
Money! Money is a scarcity for me right now and it makes everything hard for us. And when I say “us”, I mean my family. My family is a huge part of me being here today and I really count on them for support.
Without money, probably my main concern for this year is traveling to all of the East Coast rounds for Supercross. Flights are beyond expensive these days and the same goes for hotels and rental vehicles, so every little penny we have goes towards those expenses. 2014 will undoubtedly be a struggle for my family and I, but I hope to have some things change by the midway point in the season.
