LITES MAIN EVENT

The West Coast Regional Lites title was on the line tonight when the top 20 west coast 250 riders lined up for the main event in Salt Lake City. Ryan Dungey grabbed the holeshot with no Pro Circuit Kawasakis in sight. Jake Moss aboard his Seaspn/TLD Honda, however, stole the lead early from Dungey on the second lap, his teammate, Chris Blose in third. PC’s Ryan Morais moved into fourth, while Jake Weimer was mired in seventh behind Larsen and Brayton. With nothing to lose, Weimer made quick work of Larsen and Brayton and set his sights on the Honda of Trey Canard. Canard and Weimer, however, found their way around Morais shortly after MO’ failed to triple and lost some momentum. An aggressive Canard made the move on Blose on the 7th lap, giving himself the third spot.
Bad luck found Moss, however, on the eighth lap as he lost the front end, which allowed Dungey and the rest of the top five to move up a spot. With Dungey in the lead, Canard hunted the Suzuki rider down; Chris Blose in third. Canard carried his momentum past Dungey, who seemed to be comfortable with letting him by and not sacrificing the championship. Weimer, in the meantime, had found his way around Blose, and found himself looking at Dungey’s rear fender. Dungey allowed Weimer by, but Canard seemed determined to keep the Kawi off the top spot.  The final lap served up enough excitement for an entire weekend for the SLC crowd. Weimer and Canard battled it out all the way through the checkered flag, bangin’ bars, giving the crowd plenty to cheer for.
Though Canard took the checkers, and the PC guys finished ahead of Dungey, The number 10 Suzuki was on the very top of the podium. The Rockstar/Makita/Suzuki team joined Ryan Dungey on the stage as he was presented with the 1w plate. After a few years of chasing it down, Dungey finally snatched it up.

    cool ..thanks for the updates!!!

  • Anonymous Says:

I was at the race, and I’ve got to say, after seeing what Kyle Chisholm did, I’d punch that guys nose out of his face if I ever see him. Worst rider in the main event and he sees Chad Reed and gets right in his way and slams his brakes. He ruined what could’ve been a 20-lap battle.

  • Anonymous Says:

Also - as I don’t think they mentioned it - but Mike Alessi indeed did not make the main event. He had an unlucky Heat race, and in the first turn of the LCQ someone almost tipped over in the first turn and held Alessi behind him for quite a few seconds. By the time Alessi could get around him, the top 2 positions were out of reach. Poor Alessi :(

  • Christian Says:

really damn…i didn’t know that…that sad..i got dungey in the shootout…and james to win the big bikes…even though i would rather see Reed get it…james is ridiculous fast…when he keeps it on two…haha

  • Christian Says:

team tatics suck,,at least reed and bubbles have kept it clean…

  • Yamaha421 Says:

There is no way that what what Kyle Chisholm did could have changed the out come of the race. If reed was truely faster than stewart he would have one even with a half second incident.
With that said Kyle was way out of line and i hope stewart doesnt get punished for his stupid mistake

  • dirtscoot26 Says:

I was at the race tonight and have to give it up to reed of how humble he was in his podium speech. when directly bombed with the announcers question of whether sickness was the reason for him not winning, he circumvented the question in a respectable manor that really portrayed him and the team in a positive manor. hes an amazing rider who has stepped it up yet again this year and deserves way more respect than he is currently getting from a lot of people. listen to stewart, even he acknowledges his ability.

  • Anonymous Says:

reed was riding so smooth he could of won tonight but team crap going on how sad makes his team look like a cheater

  • Anonymous Says:

    Turbo Trey!!! atta boy!

  • Kinik Says:

Agreed. The Chisolm deal was sad. May the best rider win straight up. I am sure that is how Chad or James would want it. Big props to Transworld for the fast reports. Thanks!!

  • Zac Says:

You must not have been at the race - Reed was on top of his game and had Stewart on lockdown. He wasn’t letting Stewart get away by keeping his fender right on him and making aggressive passes. But when that complete idiot rider Chrisholm (whom sucks at riding btw) held up Reed for much more than half a second, considering the momentum Reed lost from too, he let Stewart get that 1-2 second lead to pull away. He ruined what could’ve been the greatest race of the year, people like him should leave the sport and live in a hole.

  • TommyTortilla Says:

I want to see this thing straight up. Chisholm should be benched for Vegas and Alessi better not pull anything like 05 with Tedesco. Let’s see a good, straight up race in Vegas.

  • Jordan Waker Says:

look wheather or not kyle chisholm was trying to make chad reed crash or not stewart is clearly faster then reed and stewart was pulling away from reed clearly its been proven time and time again reed cant run the pace of stewart and stewart see’s things on the track totally different then every other rider on the track stewart is the most talented person to ever throw his leg over a bike well besides the goat!!!!!

  • Anonymous Says:

What Chisholm did is what u want to do if ur out of the points race and ur teammate is leading u do everything in ur power to get that number one plate to ur team. chad could of had alessi do the same thing if alessi could make it to the main.

  • Mr Man Says:

i wonder who will get the bigger bonus check at the end of the season? Stewart….. Or Chisholm?

  • bubbastewartisnotachampion Says:

L&M is a very bad team, after Brooks and Stewart bad attitude, now is Kyle Chisholm, Kyle Chisholm is the as.kis.er of Brooks and Stewart, NO AMA/FIM REAL SANCTION????????? James Stewart is not a champion, he need to have 2 second advantage per lap + his entire team against Chad Reed to beat him in standing points

  • Anonymous Says:

Crisholm have nothing to lose, he’s a b-class rider, Mike Alessi can’t be suspended by the AMA/FIM, he’s a contender for the outdoor motocross championship

  • Anonymous Says:

Larry Brooks probably promised Chisholm and hand job if he did what he did to Chad.

  • Bryan Says:

Your an idiot, and that is a no balls statement.

  • Hoobatsench Says:

If Chisolm did have evil intentions he was wrong and he should be out for the rest of the year… maybe a few nationals to if he was even racing any. I want James to win the championship and have been worried Alessi would pull that stuff on James and he hasnt. Thats just wrong. Would it have changed the outcome of the race? Probably not, and James probably had nothing to do with it. Now it makes him look bad though. I dont know if kyle was trying to be dirty but if he was, kick him off L&M.

  • jake Says:

Steward dont need any help, Chisholm did something he wil be remenber for , Chad has step up the game in some increible way , he has prove that with really hard work you can get what you want , i respect Chad alot for that , i wish him the best for vegas , and you know what i wll put Dungey in the 450s to help Chad ¡¡ not to take out Bubba but if something happen to have another fast 450 guy out there can make the diffrerence ¡¡¡

  • Anonymous Says:

I did not get to see the race but unless Chisholm tried to deliberately take Reed out then Reed should quit crying. Reed just has an excuse now…

  • J Says:

Yea the only Reason JS7 won was because of Kyle. So whats your excuse for all the other wins this year.

  • Francis Says:

    good one

  • Zac Says:

Alot of you guys are blowing it out of proportion. Chisholm did something that was pathetic and did everything in his power to hold up Reed in one corner - this has nothing to do with people saying Chad Reed would’ve won or that Stewart would not have won. All it means was that there was a GREAT battle that was STILL in the works, and he stepped right in and took Reed out of the battle. And Stewart was so on his game, that someone holding up reed for 1-2 seconds was enough to keep him from EVER catching Stewart again. No one is saying Chisholm is the reason Stewart won, but seriously guys, any real supercross fan (despite if their one of those Stewart or Reed ass-kissers) would’ve LOVED to see the battle go to the checkered flag.

  • Anonymous Says:

thats why the call it a team

  • bandwagonhater Says:

dude Kyle Chisholm screwed a great battle. Open your eyes and watch it again. Kyle Chisholm is a cheap rider and I hope he gets more than just disqualified for Vegas. What a punk

  • Beasley511 Says:

J, your comment makes no sense. If you would just look at MOST of the other races this year, Stewart steps up and runs the faster pace in order to win. There are no excuses for his wins, just that he’s clearly the faster rider. JS7 doesn’t need excuses.

  • J Says:

    That was sarcasm.

  • Jon Says:

I haven’t seen the race yet but what they say that Chisolm did is 100% CRAP! No talent Brooks and his Band of worthless riders should all get huge fines along with some other sort of penalty! Who knows if Stewart was in on it or not. Based on what I’ve seen during the previous races, I wouldn’t doubt it.

  • rd10fan Says:

i dont understand why people (mostly James stewart fans) continue to give Chad reed crap even though James is pretty much guaranteed to win the championship

  • Anonymous Says:

great race thanks for posting so quick twmx even though it would of been a great 20 lap race if it wasnt for chisolm stewart would of won anyways

  • Anonymous Says:

Since Larry Brooks likes to tell things how they are and get down to the absolute truth (ie. the neck grabbing incident), I would really like to hear what he has to say about Chisolm. Even if Reed doesn’t win the championship I hope he beats James strait up in Las Vegas.

  • h0lesh0t Says:

Yeah, total bullshit. If I where Chad Reed, I would be totally pissed. I’m mad at that douche bag and I’m not even racing out there.

  • davemx90 Says:

But its ok for reed to run stewart off the track and make him hit a tough block, wich he saved, thats ok though its rediculous what they are and arent doing.

  • reedfan Says:

So!!……..what is the definition of racing?? and what is the difference if (Alisse block passing Stewart) and Chisolm block passing Reed?

  • mike b Says:

yeah but stewart didnt lap reed…stewarts teammate…who reed and stewart laped…tried to take reed out…you hve to let them pass, if you watched the other lapers they waited for both riders to pass them.

  • reeds weak Says:

what crap..reed goes for the take out manuever to try and beat James. chisholm’s just plain stupid..stewart needs no help like that. Now reed say’s his teamate is going to ‘help’ him at the next race. Alessi’ take out stewart?..he’s too slow to crash him out…can’t even make the main… reeds weak, can’t beat stewart..straight up as has been proven over ad over. Another reason why he’s a indoor chump only…

  • TNMXFAN Says:

reed gave stewart room when he passed him, stewart may have hit a tough block in the process but Reed didnt just intentionally ram stewart into the block, a little rubbin is racin

  • Anonymous Says:

ITs ok though, as chad stated , “his teamate is the best starter in the game”. So let the games begin. Would like to see Alessi ghost ride his bike straight into stewart in Vegas and clean his clock.

  • anonymous Says:

Funny how Jlaw gets suspended for a simular move that Reed put on Steward but pushing him in the blocks but Reed does it and no one even talks about it. Reeds a cheap rider and always has been first with Goat and now with Stewart. He’s not as fast but sure can knife another guy in the corner. The fasted rider with the most wins will win the championship just like it should be

  • Big Hoop Says:

I think Chisolm in the heat of the race tried to help a teammate and friend…doesn’t make it right…but anyone who races understands.

  • polkcounty Says:

what kyle did was wrong , but alessi did something like that last week , which doesnt mean you should go tick for tat , however lets be clear James did not need any help from nobody on that track to beat Chad. Its clear if James is behind he will catch him

  • anonymous Says:

Your an idiot. The race was between the two riders up front. It is against the rules for lappers to get involved in the battle. I was at the race and the pass that Chad put on Stewart was amazing. That is what I went to see, a battle. Team Yamaha should be disqualified for cheating.

  • TNMXFAN Says:

reed gave stewart room when he passed him, stewart may have hit a tough block in the process but Reed didnt just intentionally ram stewart into the block, a little rubbin is racin. chisolm slowed let stewart pass then trys to pull right in front of reed but reed gets around him then chisolm just kamikazes it through the next section so he can take out reed. pretty blatant to me. i had to rewind and watch it a few times and just couldnt believe it. there should definitely be sum harsh penalties for chisolm and the team hes on.

  • luckydmc Says:

To have a guy floundering at the back of the race affect what could have went down as one of the greatest supercross races of all time is ridiculous. For the Stewart fans, if a Suzuki rider would have pulled the same thing and Chad would have won you guys would be freaking out right now. Chad looked on it, passed twice, passed James back twice. There is no arguing that James didn’t start to pull away until Chisholm speared Reed. Whether that was a Yamaha plan or not, who knows, but regardless it taints the win, and what looks like Stewarts championship. What a shame…

  • Anonymous Says:

WHAT CHISOLM DID WAS B.S. BUT WHAT ABOUT REED TRYING TO CLEAN OUT STEWART AFTER THE FIRST PASS. RUBBING IS RACING AND WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO THE MONEY THAY MAKE AND THE CHAMPIONSHIP THATS WHAT NO NAME TEAMATES ARE FOR. B.S. OR NOT. REED DID NOT GO DOWN AND IF HES THAT FAST HE COULD HAVE CLOSED ON STEWART. REED IS A BABY. HAND DOWN AND I DONT EVEN LIKE STEWART.

  • Anonymous Says:

that is bull …. its all about skills and being the best rider not the best cheater and I’d like to see you on the race track and try to do that to another rider … people get beat up for shit like that … chad and james have been riding pretty clean and decent …. you dont see reed or stewart low balling each other Chisholm should be fined and suspended from Vegas …. unbelievable.

  • Mogi Says:

Bubba won’t be punished I almost sure of that but to say Chisholm didn’t interfear is rediculous. As we have seen in the past Bubba doesn’t respond well to pressure (i.e wreck, washout, soil sample, and my fave, the 720 face auger)so to say that chisholm didn’t give James room to breathe and remove some heat from Reed being on his ass is complete BS. And I thought with a name like Yamaha421 you might have a clue, but now your bike preference is clouding our perspective. So…. think about it.

  • luckydmc Says:

Indoor chump only like Stewart now I guess huh?

  • Anonymous Says:

reed ran stewart into a tuff block for the championship. stewart did it to reed in A2 or 3 in 07 just to win the race. i dont see a problem for it. to become professional, id run anyone off the track

  • ppl these days Says:

just because your the faster rider (a people claim stewart to be) doesnt necasarily mean you are the better rider. or maybe james is so fast cuz he lapper teamate takes out reed… not surprised this happened under larry brooks tent. and not to mention how many times has alessi (while not being lapped so it would be clean) had the chance to take out stewart?

  • Smoke Says:

in a way i feel bad for james because he got BOO’d hard core when he got up for his podium speech. He got the biggest cheers in his introduction, but even if he had no part in what happened he will take the heat for it. And Chisolm definitely did it on purpose, watch the video if he really was trying to stay out of the way his back wheel at least would have been locked, but no it go an extra pop right at the end to hit chad, what a loser!

  • annonymous Says:

first of all if you didnt see the race then dont comment reed didnt cry about anything if anything at all he took it like a man … did you hear how he responded to erin when she interviewed him … that definitly wasn’t crying and yes chisholm did deliberately take reed out. so shut up till you know the facts

  • David Says:

No doubt a stupid move by Chisolm but please don’t say Reed lost because of it, it didn’t cause Reed to lose, being slower did. I don’t particularly like JS or CR so I’d love to see some more dirty racing in Vegas.

  • JPMODD Says:

I just watched the race and i saw the chisolm incident!!You know whats funny is how every one is tripping on that,REED’s punk ass grabbed JS7 by the neck and the AMA/FIM did nothing to him!!But Chisolm gets black flagged!!I wish J-law could ride a 450 in vegas!Karma is a btch”!JS7 was just stalking Reed any way. Reed can get on the box and talk about what Chisolm did but he didn’t want to talk about what he did to JS7 with the neck grabb.Im glad Alessi didnt make the main im sure he would have been riding dirty but he has to worry about RV2 they dont like each other they have there own race with each other,[LOL]I like Reed as a rider but did he come clean with putting his hands on another rider??Hell NO..Next wk i hope JS7 wins the championship.

  • Anonymous Says:

all of you guys need to look at the bigger picture look back at when bubba was racing carmicheal … bubba has not been the best all along and he has made mistakes for reed to win and reed has made mistakes allowing bubba to win … but in the end chisholm screwed up the best battle of this season … wether it was on purpose or not .. it still sucks and reed had a chance this was reeds best race this year till chisholm … reed was on stewarts tail for 16 laps

  • metalchinkyyy Says:

Mike allesi is going to take james stewart out in las vegas….
Stewart probably wont even make it through the entire race because he’s going to be just rammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm….

  • Anonymous Says:

have u noticed anonymous that supercross fans are “whining” for what hapened? and its not actually reed? so it kinda looks like reed isnt a baby, and people are just pissed off cause they want reed to win. stop whining and get off the posts if u dont like it

  • Anonymous Says:

CRY CRY CRY…. THE HARSH REALITY IS THAT REED WOULD NOT HAVE WON ANYHOW…

  • Mogi Says:

One more for the road, The sport of supercross is affected by all of these inccedents, both positive and negative, But I must say Reed is not a “weak” rider and Bubba may be the fastest but he is not the best. Bubbas actions on and off the track have reflected negatively upon him. Reeds has a lot more tact on and off the track, but both have come very far from the muddslinging days of old, as for Reed riding dirty, get real, then get a life, rubbing is racing, it happens!! 2004 Kevin Windom was docked points for aggressive rideing and he is the cleanest rider in the sport, difference is he was in a points battle for the championship, its pressure to win. Funny how you couldn’t even get a job washing bikes for these guys but you can sure bench race with the best of them.

  • Anonymous Says:

y is everyone saying alessi will take out stewart? that tedesco incident was a long time ago and he really showed maturity in the 07 and 08 mx seasons

  • Best Man Won Says:

Simply, Stewart was faster. He was cruising behind Reed, and waiting for the right time….like he has done over and over. Reed has taken out (or tried to) Stewart many times,as he did when he totally pushed Stewart out into the tuff blocks, but Stewart held on. But thats racing!! What Chisolm did was absolutly unacceptable…..and rightfully so, the FIM pulled him off the track. That was NOT racing!!! BUT, he was not a factor in the way the race ended. Everyone knows that once Stewart makes the pass on Reed, and gets more than 3 or 4 corners further while still holding the lead…it’s over. And if ya not sure, look back at all of their previous straight up battles this year. Chisolm was stuped and made a bonehead decision, and he should get punished, but if u think that Reed would of won if Chisholm wouldn’t have done it……..you’re kidding yourself!! Can’t wait for Vegas!!!!!

  • Anonymous Says:

UH NO, REED COULDN’T HAVE WON. STEWART WAS PLAYING CAT AND MOUSE THE WHOLE TIME JUST LIKE JACKSONVILLE. REED SHOULD JUST PACK IT UP AND THROW ANOTHER SHRIMP ON THE BARBIE..

  • luckydmc Says:

A lot of the people leaving comments on this board must be young. I mean really, if any of you older guys remember seeing Mark Barnett, or Bob Hannah, or Kent Howerton do a block pass these “block passes” now are love taps. When racing up front for a championship those guys were ruthless. Reed’s pass squeezed James, and James could either get off the gas and stay upright or stay on it and crash.

That is the difference, Reed makes a tough pass on Stewart, Stewart makes a tough pass on Reed as the two best riders duke it out is one thing. 20th place getting involved is another thing altogether….dirty.

  • Anonymous Says:

BECAUSE REED IMPLIED THAT ON THE PODIUM. WHO’S TO SAY THAT ALESSI CARES FOR REED ENOUGHT TO DO THAT ANYHOW. REED GOBBLES COCKS FOR BREAKFAST.

  • wfomoto Says:

I was hoping that with reed on stewarts butt he would crash like he usually does if you can keep the pressure on him and chad win and tie up the points. well your rite the championship is tainted now unless reed somehow wins it.

  • Anonymous Says:

I can’t help but feel Chisholm’s block pass was a tremendous blunder, either on his part or on the part of the entire team. James looked very uncomfortable in his podium interview. Unless Stewart beats Reed in the final round, there will be a huge ‘what if’ hanging around for a while. What a shame that it undermines the season championship, very disappointing for the riders and the sport.

  • Anonymous Says:

STEWARTS ACTIONS ON AND OFF THE TRACK? WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

  • TORO Says:

I HAVE NEVE SEEN SUCH BS. YAMAHA SUCKS FOREVER FOR THIS. STEWARTS CHAMPIONSHIP IS NOTHING IF HE WINS IT. HE DIDNT WIN IT YAMAHA CHEATED. THAT RUINED THE BEST RACE I HAVE EVER SEEN. DOES YAMAHA WANT TO TURN IT INTO A KNOCK DOWN SPORT NOT A RACE. AFTER THIS I THINK THE MOVE OVER FLAG SHOULD BE A GET OFF THE TRACK FLAG LAPPERS SHOULD BLACK FLAGGED AS SOON AS THE LEADERS GET CLOSE.

  • Cheated out in SLC Says:

After what I saw last night out of Chisholm and Larry Brooks team tactics I will never be a fan of Stewart, Chisholm or anything that deals with Brooks. I was a huge fan of that team until last night but what they did ruined what could have been one of the best battles to go down in Supercross racing. Thanks alot for ruining a great night, I will now fly the Suzuki yellow or any other color for that matter. What a way to win a championship huh? By cheating this will go down as the most worthless title ever. Congratulations Stewart on a job not well done.

  • wfomoto Says:

hey stewart has took reed to the hay bails. remember reed said in his interview that if stewart wants to play that game then so be it. i want to see them take each other out trying to win, ass not some teammate.

  • Anonymous Says:

They need to call the points lead even for the chode move Chisholm made and see a straight up race for the championship in Vegas.

  • luckydmc Says:

Guess we’ll never know. Regardless, no matter what you say it will taint the win, and the championship forever. 10 years from now TWMX will do a retrospective about the controversial 2009 Supercross Championship. Perfect example if you read farther down is Stewart had the loudest cheers during the intros, and then was boo’ed on the podium. Stewart has always been faster than everyone, but has been inconsistent. Reed has never been the fastest, but has been consistent. They are the best riders on the planet, and should sort it out themselves.

  • X-YAMAHA FAN Says:

SO THIS IS WHAT SUPERCROSS IS NOW? SUPERCROSS THE MOVIE? I THOUGHT THAT MOVIE SUCKED FOR SAYING RIDERS ARE PAID TO PROTECT THIER TEAM. IS THIS THE WAY IT IS? YAMAHA SO SUCKS FOR THIS. WIN OR NOT WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP STEWART SHOULD NOT TAKE THE NUMBER 1 PLATE. 09 SUPERCROSS WAS RUINED BY KYLE AND YAMAHA CHEATING. JAMES PROBABLY COULD HAVE WON BUT NOW WE WILL NEVER KNOW. IF FIM DOES NOT BAN KYLE FROM THE SPORT FOR HIS STUPITITY THE SPORT OF SC WILL SUFFER FROM THIS. CAN WE JUST IMAGINE IF THEY LET THIS SPORT TURN IN TO ROLLER DERBY WITH BIKES THIS SUCKS SOOOOOOOOOOO BAD.

  • Future King of MX Says:

Maybe you can say what bad attitude James Stewart has? Maybe you can correct me, along with Speed and CBS, but if that video is correct Reed was the one who threw tear offs down at the ground in frustration after his loss in New Orleans, and it was also Reed who GRABBED Stewart by the back of the neck after I believe Jacksonville, which was completelly IMMATURE, UNWARRANTED, and UN CHAMPION like. And for your statement saying :

“James Stewart is not a champion, he need to have 2 second advantage per lap + his entire team against Chad Reed to beat him in standing points”

YOU ARE WRONG. James Stewart beat Reed by what, seven seconds in New Orleans and gaps like that at at least six other races while Reed continued saying he could beat him if he got a good start and battled with him from start to finish, (Reed was with him from the first turn at New Orleans and couldnt beat him). I think time and time again has proven that isnt the case. Good luck to James Stewart: MATURE, HUMBLE, HARD WORKING, STRONG, DETERMINED, CLEAN, RESPECTABLE RIDER, and hopefully 2009 AMA and FIM World Supercross Champion!

  • Anonymous Says:

The definition depends on the context. Block pass by ’slower’ teammates during in the inital few laps makes sense, but with two laps to go while you are about to be lapped is wrong. The rules are clear, you must allow the faster riders to pass when you are being lapped. Furthermore, Chisholm is not a B class rider, he is a professional. I expect professionals to act the part, do their best work, and use their best judgement. Not look for opportunistic shortcuts.

  • MX 801 Says:

you would punch his nose off his face?? What does that even mean? hahhahaha

  • ant Says:

chisolms a little bitch you dont get in the way of a battle like that if your a lapper. all you stewy fans complain about reed passing like he did. he left stewart room and whats the big deal rubbings racing who said you have to cater to the person your battling a championship out with. its not meant to be like that for all you idiots who say reed sent stewart into a tough block.

  • MX 801 Says:

Your totally right yamaha421, Reed didn’t fall down or anything even close to that, yea reed lost something like a second on Stewart, thats it! If Reed was truly a better rider then he would have battled back and caught Stewart, but did he? No he didn’t. What kyle did was wrong and quite stupid but no matter who you are rooting for you have to admit that Stewart was pulling away before the incident even happened. For the people that wanted Reed to win I’m sorry.

  • tommy Says:

i think chisholm is cool.best block pass EVER!

  • KTMsRock Says:

Hahahahahahaha people like you crack me up. First of all learn how to type. Then you need to look at what team Reed was on just last year, huh, i recall it being the exact team you are bad mouthing right now. And your theory about Stewart not being a champion, umm do you know anything about motocross or supercross?? I think not because last time I checked Stewart is a multi time champion, get your facts straight PLEASE!! Why don’t you think before you type something man and save everyone from reading this bullshit. Thanks and never comment again.

  • TRE Says:

There is no doubt that Stewart is the faster and better rider! I don’t think some of you actually watched the race.. Reed tried to take out Stewart which let him pull away and put more than a second on Stewart. Stewart quickly made up the gap and passed him again! Regardless of what caused Reed to fall behind a second or so, if he was a better rider, he would have made up the gap. If the situation was reversed, Stewart would have still caught up and passed Reed and kept the battle going. Stewart has elevated the sport and is on a another level compared to the other riders. When Stewart wins the championship it will definitely not be tainted. He’s won most of the races this series. I’d hate to see someone that has only won a couple races, win the championship. True champions don’t consistently get 2nd place or at least not the type of champion that I would want to look up to.

  • KTMsRock Says:

hahahahahahahaha people like you make me laugh! First of all learn how to type. Then if you are a Reed fan I think you failed to notice that the same team you are bad mouthing right now is the same team Reed was on just last year. Also saying that Stewart is not a champion is completely ridiculous, if you didn’t know I will inform you that Stewart is a multi time champion and has even given the GOAT a run for his money. You really need to get your facts straight. And please save everyone from reading this crap and think before you type.

  • TeamTatics=BS Says:

anonymous 11:26am.-you are a complete idiot. Stewart may still have won anyway, but for his teammate (who cant even get a top 10) to step in and try to take reed out like that is insane. I don’t care who told him to do it, larry brookes, yamaha, or stewart himself…. it doesn’t matter team tatics are BS.

Kyle Chisholm is a tool!!! not only did he ruin the excitement of the salt lake race he has now made the season come down to a “what if???”. he shouldn’t just be penalized the team should be penalized, how else are you going to stop the stupid team antics like this. its garbage and takes away from the sport.

  • Victor Says:

What Chisholm did was wrong and total BS. IMO this is worse than anything Jlaw has ever done, he interfered with a championship race! If it were up to me Chisholm should be suspended for a year+ and JS should be docked 5 points, who ever wins Vegas gets the championship.

  • MX17 Says:

I think that was very dirty. I agree with them Black Flagging Chisholm and pulling him off the track. He clearly let Stewert pass and than speered Reed. The is no room for that on the track. That was not the best block pass ever. It was dirty racing and I hope they fine Chisholm and suspend him a few races.

  • Anonymous Says:

Nobody has mentioned that Kyle Cheatsim waitid till the next lap after being black flagged (and you know he saw the flag but acted like he didn’t) and let James by the 2nd time lapped and then took the main line and tried to slow reed again for a second time. If Cheatsim was really “racing” and not deliberately trying to help Stewart then why did he just putt around the track slowly to be lapped a second time. It was deliberate and VERY SAD to see the championship come down to that.

  • Anonymous Says:

reed would have lost anyway, there is no what ifs here. everybody including the riders are just sick of him being a cry baby when things dont go his way. reed much like his fans are cry babies!!!

  • McVay67 Says:

I’ve got to say that IF Kyle tried to take Reed out, that is worse than aweful. But if he took the corner to hot, I can see it as an accident. I watched it and it’s hard to tell…for me anyway…and as a rider, I’ve gotten T Boned by my best friend in a corner & I know it was an accident because he sucked at corners. If that were on purpose, dock Kyle & Bubba. If an accident, Kyle’s out for Vegas and was black flagged in front of millions. Come on AMA…find out for us.

  • Anonymous Says:

    alessi sucks

  • Anonymous Says:

haeds up for vegas and black flag the lappers if you cant stay on the same lap your not in the race

  • Anonymous Says:

considering chad has never won a race against stewart “straight up” i would love to see that. of course when chad lost that race it would be because he had a splinter or a hang nail in his glove or his bunion is flaring up. hes always got some excuse to keep him from winning.

  • JPMODD Says:

WOW the haters are out in force WTF where were all these ppl when Reed got beat and grabbed JS7 by the neck????Like i said b4 what did the AMA/FIM do to Reed?Reed could have put this championship away a few races ago but he couldnt get it done! Damn do some of you guys really think that JS7 has to ride Dirty to win a Championship, are you for real? I think his Stats need to be posted again!Ive seen races where even RC has brake checked a rider or 2,Didnt JS7 go 14strt out doors last summer and hasnt he won like 10races before last night did he get any help or ride dirty to get those wins?Reed had a lot to say about JS7 team mate but how can Reed talk sht when he put his hands on another rider,he should have got his ass kicked for that,[LOL]or a HUGE Fine.oh they for got about that!!Chills move did look rather agressive but he almost took all 3 of them out,Maybe it was a panic rev. [lol].Vegas if JS7 isnt taken out by a yellow bike and Reed races him str8 up JS7 will be 09sx champ!I can see it now Reed on the box saying well,if i could have just gotten the start..LMAO!Wow and one guy said JS7 should be docked 5 points!and how many should Reed get docked for grabbing a rider by the neck??

  • iride195 Says:

i agree with this whole statement! aha and like when in jacksonville and bubba was running 2nd and had every oppertunity to take out reed but he didnt he passed him clean and when he let by reed again and passed him he just blocked passed him there was no contact. and reed lost so he threw a Bi*** fit! come on reed grow up and retire already you will never be as better as JS7.
and we’ll see what happens in vegas.

  • ilovepeeing Says:

LOL the neck grab incident is BS.. its not like he choked stewart… its more like putting hes arms a pals back. hahaha you get your ass kicked for putting chad reeds hands on another rider and should have gotten a fine for that? haha wtf ahhh ok so if i was congratulating someone and put my arms over someones back, i should get fine? haha it wasnt even clear what both of them said when the “neck grabbing” incident happen… who knows what chad said to bubs my auncle………..

  • supercross fan Says:

i watched the race, and what chislom did was pretty cheap. but if you really watch the tape, it didnt affect reed in that corner at all. he barely touched him. that “bump” was a heck of lot less than when reed delibrately cut the corner to take stewart into the tuff blocks.. i doubt stewart had anything to do with it… reed just needs to grow a set an hold the throttle open a little longer

  • TsmithMX Says:

Thank you TRE I agree 100%!!!

  • ryan Says:

i agree with the first guy. chisolm’s a tool. that block pass was completely uncalled for. what the hell is a lapper doing block passing 2nd place?? i’m nor saying Reed would have won. but he had a chance, until chisolm decided he would F things up. props to Stewart himself for a clean race though.

  • Anonymous Says:

honestly though i was there and saw it first hand and it didn’t even slow reed down. after that whole thing reed was still the same distance away from Stewart.

  • ryan Says:

that’s the same as if they put in a 2nd stringer in a soccer game to blow out the knee of the other team’s forward. don’t be stupid.

  • Anonymous Says:

It’s not just that corner, watch the corner before where he lets Stewart cruise by then forces Reed to take the outside before the rhythm. Then he starts to sprint out of the rhythm section to keep up and torpedo’s right at Reed, and by the end of that chain of events Stewart had already gained a 3 point lead. What Chisholm did was pretty significant in affecting the battle.

  • Unbelievable Says:

Chad Reed is a great, talented rider that has always ridden on the dirty side of racing. Did anyone here ever watch James and Ricky race together? They only touched once, at an outdoor national, but Reed sure has tried to ram everyone in front of him. Does anyone remember Reed rear ended Stewart at A1? Granted Chisolm’s move was uncalled for, it did not affect the outcome of the race. And as stated previously, Reed rode for L&M last year. And I remember Reed hitting people as well. Reed 3 Wins this season, Stewart 10 up until this race. Stewart is faster hands down. Congrats to Stewart and Reed for an awesome race. Boo to Chisolm for being a clown.

  • KYle chisom sux cock Says:

Im gonna straight up walk into the yamaha pits and kick Kyles ass at vegas!

  • kawboy Says:

I am glad I am not the only one who saw Reed try to take out Stewart, This is racing! Reed got what was coming to him.

  • GB147 Says:

Reed was right on Stewart’s level until Kyle Jism ran into Reed. Pretty sad to know that James’ team was so scared to lose the championship that they had to cheat. Hopefully Alessi can take Stewart out in Vegas, that’s what I’m hoping for.

  • Hoobatsench Says:

actually he has a good point there… there is no call for what chisholm did but if alessi does it, they should suspend him for 2 outdoor nationals as well. Chisholm didnt even slow down reed to much if you look at the tape… it still wasnt right but what happened when reed almost knocked bubba off the track? They are both getting dirty now and its getting kinda lame to watch. It would be nice to just see a straight up race with no agression just racing.

  • Anonymous Says:

wow ya true champions never consistantly finish second. How about RC in 2003, 2005, and 2006? where in last half of the series, finished nothing but seconds. moron.

  • Rider for Hire Says:

Dear Larry Brooks, I am slow enough to get lapped if you feel James isn’t fast enough to win. I will ride for half the price of JISM.

  • suzuki 917 Says:

alright alright people all settle this for you ( reed sucks stewart is bad ass kyle chisholm is a dumbass always has been a dumbass and will continue being a dumbass stewart won fair and square and he will win the championship fair and square its not stewarts fault or the teams fault its the dumbasses fault) and for everyone on here that continues to blame stewart and his team are dumbasses as well

  • Chisholm eats dicks Says:

please, someone kick Kyle’s ass for me at vegas… I can´t do it myself cause I’m from SPAIN.
Go Reed, apply the preasure in Vegas and you’ll see yourself with the n.1 plate again!

  • Coy Says:

There is no way they could have planned what chisolm did. It’s not like Larry Brooks sat in the truck and said “ok kyle when they lap you tonight in the rythem section i want you to take out reed” I think chisolm just made a bad decision on his own. You could tell bubba was pissed about. Kyle was doing the section different than them and tried to sieze the momemt i guess. Which i agree was dumb. Bubba doesnt want to win that way and i don’t think chad will want to win that way next weekend. this has been one of the best years in a while as far as the points go. I agree, let it play out between them two. And team tactics have always been around. they are not near as bad as they used to be. Imagaine your bosses telling you to “Let Brock by” Your own team used to make you throw the race!!

  • slc Says:

  • Jason Says:

My family and I have always been huge race fans. We don’t have any one favorite rider (Since Bob Hannah retired in the 80’s), we just enjoy good racing. Rubbing plastic and bumping bars has always been a part of racing but getting your teammate to take out your competitor or at least slow him down by running into him when being lapped is a disgrace. It takes away fom the race and the sport. As a team, Sam Manuel should be docked points fom both Chisalm and Stewart. If James ends up winning the champinship, it will be a false title in my eye’s. Nobody know if Reed would have passed him back or not (as he did twice during the race)but he had the opportunity until Kyle Chisolm jumped in. This was a team tactik to the very end. Black eye on Sam Manuel, Kyle Chisolm and Stewarts title should he win it. What a real shame.

  • Are you kidding me? Says:

AMA/FIM rulebook says you cannot touch another rider. Only exception are blowjobs from reedy

  • chuck Says:

I agree. That was dirty racing if I’ve ever seen it. It was blatantly obvious what Chisholm was trying to do. Anyone who doesn’t see that is a moron. It’s as simple as that. And yeah, Stewart is a tad faster than Reed, however Reed is a smoother, more consistent rider. He’s also very humble in comparison to Stewart. I hope Stewart gets what’s coming to him in Vegas. That would be awesome!!

  • Anonymous Says:

Very True. Glad somebody pays attention.

  • Anonymous Says:

It looked like Chisholm had the breaks locked right up and just came into the corner way too hot. He hardly touches Reed.

  • Slot001 Says:

lol reed didnt even get slowed down by kyles hit, he just slowed down after so he could have soemthing to bitch about. if it was stewarts int hat position getting hit he wouldnt have slowed down after, he would have won like a man! MORE SHRIMP ON THE BARBIE

  • Anonymous Says:

Its not Yamaha its San Manuel you dumb ass! its not a factory team.

  • Jordan Ransom Says:

I was also there. And honestly I believe Chisholm did it on purpose. He sped up through the table top section just after he let Stewart by him, he saw him coming and you may say it didn’t slow reed down but how is that when the almost came to a complete stop. And I am a Stewart fan but come on now. That race would have been back an forth till the end and I believe Stewart would have won, but if he did it that way there would be no debate about it. And when reed was holding the lead you on Stewart you could see in Stewart’s riding he was getting frustrated. Reed seemed calm until that corner where he may not have been “bumped” but he was way thrown off.
    To end this book
Laped people, Get out of the way of supercross gods!!!! Like bubba and reed.
And this was my first supercross I have ever attended and it was wierd to see in the pits that bubba would only sign 100 autographs. And sponsors are silly because my nephew was talking to James and was trying to get his monster hate signed and James “can’t do it” even though other people would regardless. He is a nice guy just seems like he has sold out a little.

  • Anonymous Says:

Its one thing if Reed or Stewart try to clean eachother out since they are the ones that are racing for the title, but to have a teamate that is being lapped take out the competitor is freakin ridiculous. The San Manuel team as a whole can suck a fat one. I never was more of a Reed fan or a Stewart fan, didn’t really care for either one, but now I hope Reed wins it by cleaning Stewart and Chisolms clocks in Vegas.

  • Jordan Ransom Says:

And one more thing. I don’t think bubba had really anything to do with that from what I can tell. He was looking back after the double into the next section. I don’t feel it was planed but it looked weird. And all the other riders were just rolling out of the way. And the race before it had problems with lapers also. Its basically how I believe Jake Weimer who was riding really good, was able to catch Trey Canard who seemed to have it in the bag till he ran into slower riders.

  • Jordan Ransom Says:

Well bubba in clean air with no one in front will pull away from anyone haha. 1 second might as well have been 10 miles with him. It was reed keeping him close that made him nervous and push it but after he gets in clean air he is gone for any rider following him.

  • G-Snatch Says:

i agree i dont think it had a big affect on him. I wouldnt be suprised if what chisolm did was accidental. in the lites like three people did the same thing over that on off.

  • G-Snatch Says:

well i think the only reason JS7 won was because he was faster. He was in front of Reed when Chisolm messed him up so it didnt dramatically change the outcome.

  • G-Snatch Says:

But if you watched the lights there was atleast three guys that did the same thing as chisolm only on accident. they cased the on off and endoed into the burm. to me it looked as though it was intentional but you never know. whether it was intentional or not, Chisolm just got himself a whole lot of haters.

  • G-Snatch Says:

It sounds to me like Reed took like a man and your being a baby about it…. Anonymous

  • Anonymous Says:

i agree that what chisholm did was not right even if it was not on purpose but i dont think that stewart would do that on purpose.. stewart is a better rider but reed has been very fast this year.. all in all, the whole night of races was amazing…..

  • sean scott Says:

Go DUNGEY, way to bring that # 1 plate to Minnesota!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sellers Says:

Are you kidding, bumping bars while racing and taking out competitors are two completely different things. When a rider is lapped they are supposed to let up and let both riders pass clean. You don’t just let up for one and then gun it into the next. It was wrong and screwed over Reed’s chances. They had a great race between the two, and for something as little as that to effect the out come is wrong!

  • DallasWang Says:

Its called racing for a reason. This is not the WWF! Stuff isnt planned out the way it happens.

    Go JS7!

  • Anonymous Says:

Reed is the biggest whiner ever. He had a shady pass earlier in the race and James passed him clean twice. There is no way that Chad Reed getting second can be completely blamed on Kyle Chisholm. Chisholm had the brakes locked up going into the turn and when the contact was made it hardly slowed Reed down. Reed got his excuse to lose this week. If Makita Suzuki has any bad team orders next week they should be black flagged just like Chisholm was.

Um….. There wasn’t any booing for stewart. And for the record reed did slam him into the hay bails on turn 2.

  • JRID71 Says:

11 to 3 wins. The championship would be ruined if Reed takes the 1 plate. Food for thought.

  • BLEAKE637 Says:

It’s interesting how against team tactics you seem to be while claming Hannah is your favorite rider. If you remember the 1977 125 Nationals when Hannah was told to ‘Let Broc By’ and did, thus allowing Glover to win the championship over Danny LaPorte. Just some food for thought.

  • lodown Says:

that’s exactly my point. I wasn’t there, but certainly on TV it looked as if he was just in over his head. I think he saw who it was and wanted to help his teammate. Take out? Maybe, maybe not (I doubt it). But clearly he was riding over his head on that section and just lost it. Sucks though, as I really would have liked a champion to be crowned without all the bs controversy. I’m not necessarily a Stewart bandwagon guy, but I’ve been riding and racing for almost 25 years now, and I’ve just never seen anyone ride a motorcycle like Stewart. It’s a gd beautiful thing. And Reed is obviously amazingly fast as well; he’s just not AS fast… and… from where I stand, Reed comes across as somewhat of a whiny little bitch.

  • lodown Says:

    couldn’t agree more

  • DC110 Says:

How exactly did Alessi try to spear Stewart if he wasn’t even in the main? How about you actually watch the race before you comment on it.

  • JRID71 Says:

Yeah just give ol Reedy another excuse.Reed shall retrieve his old number 22 plate and keep firing off those second place finishes.

  • DC110 Says:

I’ll agree Stewart was a bit faster in Salt Lake (I was there) but he was looking pretty ragged and right on the edge when him and Reed were dicing. Reed on the other hand looked perfectly smooth and like he was riding within his abilities… Until they lapped Chisholm, after that the gap stayed the same but Stewart had enough of a cushion to back it down to a safer level. I honestly think that he probably would have turfed it in the rhythm section behind the start if Reed would have kept pushing him. When Stewart was tripling the big peak he was casing so hard it was a miracle he was keeping it on track (I was sitting about 20ft away).

  • JRID71 Says:

I think Mogi is confused.JLaw maybe?

  • DC110 Says:

Hmmm, lets see I center punch you in a bowl turn totally taking away all your drive into a whoop section while the guy you’re racing with hits it tapped… No, I really can’t see where that would cause at least a 2 second gap.

  • Stewart fan Says:

Kyle is a bonehead. I say if Kyle is not fired, boycott all his sponsers. If FIM does not ban Kyle whats the use of having rules at all. Lets see gladiators on bikes, it could be a mix of Mixed martial arts and moto NOW THAT WOULD BE COOL.

  • Spellman481 Says:

I agree. I was sitting by the corner that reed got hit and ya maybe it was uncalled for. But it didnt even slow him down. He was being stalked by stewart the whole moto. Stewart was way faster. It was an awsome race.

  • JRID71 Says:

Reed’s got another excuse premade for Vegas.

  • DC110 Says:

I was hoping for that too, but I don’t see it happening. If Alessi does anything even close to that and getting suspended from the Outdoors (a title both him and Villopoto should have a good fight for) I could see DeCoster giving him a royal ass kicking.

  • BLEAKE637 Says:

Whether or not anyone thinks this was right or wrong, I don’t think we should be hoping someone hurts any of the riders. This a professional sport, not a war. Damn people chill out.

  • JPMODD Says:

Ok here is a good one,What would any body be saying had Reed taken JS7 out in the turn where he rode JS7 up into the tuff blocks? Would Reed be catching all this hater sht?Hell i still cant believe the AMA/FIM hasnt done any thing to Reed yet for the neck grab!!Sounds like a DBL standard to me.And if Alessi had made the main he would have maybe done the same to JS7.How much time is left on his contract?Hell in vegas he may get a bonus..

  • localdude Says:

I suppose its what side of the fence your standing behind.

From the Stewart camp… Reed took our steward in the first round and Reed goes up 20 pts. Then Reed cant stay w/ steward and he comes back to wins most of the races to take the lead. Then this Kyle C incident and the Reed camp wants both the Yamaha riders to be docked points? …did you forget what happened two weekends before? did Reed get docked points for grabbing Stewart by the back of the neck and telling him that he wanted to kill him?
The FIM should of kick Reed in the big A and told him sit next to J.Law but that is not good for sport…oooohhh

From the Reed camp… This Kyle C. incident may have took Reeds chances away to pass Steward back. DFQ both riders and if Stewards wins the Championship, it won’t mean anything.

Give me a break! Lets count the overall wins. Hands down it should go to Steward setting aside all the BS. Reed could barley beat Windham last year. If Reed wins the Championship, its like kudos for him riding in 2nd all year but getting gold. Nascar chg those type of rule after Matt Kenzeth won the champ. without winning a race. Lets throw a big party for the 1st looser! If Reed was that good we would not be reading this BS thread. Let see how he dose on the outdoor?

  • David Says:

There was lots of booing for Stewart. I was shocked that the crowd got that heated toward James, because he wasn’t actually involved in the incident. Regardless, what Chisholm did was blatant disregard for the fact that he shouldn’t have been racing with someone who was a full lap ahead of him. At least when Reed and Stewart bumped, they were racing for position.

  • mxkid19 Says:

If you go back and watch the race again ,Chrishom looked at both Reed and Stewart catch him as he was almost stopped in the corner before the rythem section and he came right out into Reed or Reed would have taken a completely different line. This is way before ghe hit Reed in the corner. This should have never of happened, Chrishom should be fired and an astrex will be added to this championship when Stewart wins.I do not think Stewart had any thing to do with it but he will pay a price.

  • hmmmm Says:

this is what i think…. Chisholm should not have been riding like that when they passed him, but i dont think he meant to take reed out… if you look at it on tv he had the brakes locked up (the rear wheel was in the air because he was on the front brakes so hard and the rear wheel is completely locked up…. also lets just leave all of this what if crap for after vegas. If Reed beats Stewart in Vegas and Stewart gets anything but second,(Stewart would win championship by most wins if he gets second in salt lake and vegas) then I will start to ask questions….

  • cody 117 Says:

I agree with david about the chisolm controverse and dont give reed ***t about putting james into the blocks thats racing but chisolm should be penalized further that getting black flagged that was total immaturity that was completly wrong.

  • Ktmrider68 Says:

That was bull. I had been pulling for Stewart all year but I just changed, I lost alot of respect for him. That was blatant cheating. Reed was giving Stewart all he could handle, Stewart was having hell catching up to Reed and when he passed Reed would almost immediately pass back. Those who say Chislolm didn’t throw Reed’s game off are idiots and have never been on a dirt bike, racing is about momentum and concentration. Reed lost both after nearly being taken out. And all the people that are mad about a little block pass from Reed are hypocrites. You don’t complain when Stewart does it (i.e. cutting Reed off in mid air). Also Reed has actually been pretty classy, he could have gone off when they interviewed him but I think that was nice when he responded, Who is Chislolm, good job Reed. If the AMA is so fair (penalizing JLAW but thats another story) then they should dock Stewart 3 points and let them battle at Vegas, winner takes all with the understanding that cheating by teammates will cost a dq. That would make the championship not be tarnished!!!!

  • Ktmrider68 Says:

You are retarded, stewart himself said he accidentally hit neutral in that race so it was his fault not Reed’s.

  • Ryan Says:

The race was awsome james passed chad fare and square more then enough times to show all he wanted to do was race him fare and square!!! after stewart passed reed he totally dive bombed him in the bowl corner no regards!!! either way even the little time chism slowed reed down, he gave up after that cause he knew he had a good reason to ride like a panzy and take second !!!!!! it seems like reed will take any excuse he can to relize he is nothing!!!!! he took james out right from aniehiem 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I swear if i ever got a signed shirt from reed id piss on it after he signed it and tell the c o c k y son of a female dog to leave and never come back!! Im a canadian happy go lucky kinda guy from Alberta!!! and I would never beat reed on the track but if he ever wanted to go in the parking lot id teach him a thing or two about respect!!!!!! race stewart ya b i t c h dont try to clean him out

  • just another realist Says:

After mxkid19 stated that Kyle looked back at both Stewart and Reed I watched it again, and I am sorry to say he was correct. If you notice what Chisolm saw it was James making a mistake in the whoops and Reed making up a bunch of time.

I think that it is reasonalbe to assume that Kyle got spooked by what he saw and made a horrible decision. That is a shame that Chisolm’s momentary lack of sense might cause some people to disrespect what James has accomplished this year.
I feel a bit sorry for Chisolm because he is going to have a black cloud following him for a while over this, and it was obvious that he didn’t want to take out Chad because if he wanted to all he would have had to do is let off of the brakes, but at the same time it was his bonehead move that caused the controversy.
If I was James, I’d be pissed at Chisolm… everyone knows that James had Reed covered that night, just as much as we were all enjoying a great race between two champions.

Chad knew that James had him covered also and that’s why he tried (successfully) to knock Stewart into the haybales on the 9th lap.

I guess the only question left to answer is how long do you think that Mike Alessi is going to stand on Stewarts bike in Vegas?

  • C-Mill Says:

Haha…Im a J-Law fan so Im not even going to read through these posts. The move Chisholm pulled was straight up bullshit. Even if it only cost Reed a second (which it did at the least) it completely ruined the momentum he had going and Im sure it got in Reed’s head the moment it happened, disrupting his focus on Stewarts lines. Haha… Seriously like Reed stated, who is this kid. I remember Stewart was talkin him up in preseason and he still is’nt sh**t. This should be the end of his Pro career. Reed and Stewart were running the same pace the whole time and thats how Reed repassed Stewart the first time. Chisholm wasn’t even close to the pace, he was being lapped. The jersey kids even smart enough to let the championship contenders flow on by. Screw Brooks, San Manuel Yami’s and Stewart’s whole cocky domination bullshit. That crap has ruined the sport. Reeds a straight up down to earth racer who will be the 09 champ no matter what the plate says. Alessi needs to step back up like he did in Indy…classic legit racing.

  • just another realist Says:

I doubt that Chisolm’s would pay his fine

  • dgizzy Says:

Congrats Chisolm. You are now more famous than JLaw. Oh by the way anonymous you are crazy for that comment on Stewart. Just bcoz he’s black does not mean he likes watermelon and Chicken. take your racy remarks elsewhere this is racing. Incase nobody realized Alessi tried to take stewart out the past 3 weeks. if you watch seattle Bubba had to pass him cautiously and looked at him bcoz he was trying to take him out. Either way team tactics or not Bubba made up 23 points on Reed and now made back up from 11 It is clear who is the better Rider.

Look at it this way if you were a sponsor and looking who would you sponsor?

  • Jordan Ransom Says:

    Your silly.

  • Jordan Ransom Says:

And it may be just me but I actually do believe he likes chicken and watermelon. My backing for this is because…who doesn’t like chicken and watermelon?

  • HI Rider Says:

This was one of the most exciting races in a long time. Chad did look to have speed to stay with James, up until the part Chisolm tried to put him into the stands. Chisolm made contact, the video doesn’t lie! What Chad did to James is called racing! James tried to do the same to him a few laps before but Chad powered thru. Yes, Chads block was much more aggressive, but again it’s called racing!

What Chisolm did, being a lap down isn’t racing! Plain and simple! I want to see James win, but not like this. They were head to head racing like champions. Chad was riding on pure desperation he needed to win. But James is the fastest rider in the world!

Chisolm, you are the biggest loser!

  • Bobby Hill Says:

check out the moto-gp race, nicky hayden gets TAKEN THE F OUT! reed was bumped, by a lapped rider, but it didnt do much, just get back on the gas! on his best day stewart is faster, ouch…

if Stewart wins in Vegas the supercross 2009 champ title will not be tainted. It would prove that even if reed would have won and Stewart finished second that Stewart winning in Vegas would gave him the championship outright.

  • MX Insider Says:

I think everyone that says “Stewart was going to win anyway” should be banned from the sport of racing at all levels… You guys are morons… there would be no point to even race then.. just have a time trial and say “hey this guy was the fastest and he would of won, So lets give him the money.. no need to race” racing is about the unexpected, the Stewart melt downs, the lapper’s, the track, the mud etc.. that is what makes racing exciting… Plus team tactics have been in play since forever… is anyone old enough on here to remember Washougal 85 when Honda stacked the 250 class with everyone and team orders for Lechien to pull over on the last lap so Johnny O could win.. Not to mention the fact Wardy was getting hacked the entire moto..

  • dhodges Says:

I watched the race on TV and it started out as one of the best races of the season. Reed was racing a good race and they were battling back and forth and putting on a good show. What Kyle did whether intensional or not is going to make Steward look bad. Its a shame. I don’t think the team would have told Kyle to do that I think he just made a heat of the moment desicion to do it and it was stupid. Let the best man win. Stewart and Reed can stand on their own two feet without having there teamates try to take them out. If you want to see that kind of racing go watch Nascar.

  • Boondog Says:

Much ado about nothing. I think they should take away that lapper rule and just let people race it out for everything. Sure would make it more interesting than this standard cookie-cutter, “politically correct” stuff. I want aggression! Not to the point of people getting hurt, though, but all this whining about “I just want to see Chad race him for 20 laps clean” is bs. HE’S HAD ALL SEASON TO DO THAT! Chisolm didnt slow Reed down at all. Just gave him an excuse for losing. Stewie was already out of the turn and in the air when Reed was just coming into the turn. It was inevitable. Get over it people. The better man won.

  • stm14 Says:

Reed needs any and every excuse he can get to justify having a sx only contract and not win the title. James was toyin with Reed the whole time. Alessi would have done the same thing that Chisolm did. Chad would do better racing his poor mans sx series back home. Im confident theres nobody like Stewart he needs to sweat over.

  • Justin11 Says:

I agree the Chisholm thing was wrong, butttt…..

Stewart had PLENTY of chances to put Reed over the tuff blocks but he didnt. Reed did….

  • lodown Says:

blatant cheating? For you to have an effective argument, you need the FACTS from both sides. You’ll never get them. That was no more “blatant cheating” than was Reed’s “minor bump” previously in the race. Racing is racing, mistakes happen, people are way more down on Stewart for some reason (because he’s faster than everybody else? Because people prefer the underdog? I really don’t know, but i think it’s sad, as he is clearly the fastest rider on planet earth (assumes RC not in the sport) Let’s just hope Vegas is a clean race. May the fastest man win…

  • lodown Says:

james stewart’s throttle hand screwed up Reed’s chances

  • Bruce Says:

I’m a huge Bubba fan, and my hands and feet were sweating while I was watching the race. I will say this, I honestly don’t think Reed would have won… just my opinion… but that race had all the ingredients to be Bailey/Johnson 2 and it’s too bad it’s going to be tainted like this. That was a terrible move by an otherwise great guy (Chisholm). As soon as I saw that move, I groaned, knowing that Reed deserved to race Bubba clean.

  • Coy Says:

Give Chisolm some credit. He made the main of a professional supercross race. He is hardly a B-class rider. I mean honestly Bubba and Chad have been known to lap up to 5th place. He is a faster rider than we are for sure. What he did was dumb and if they are going to punish Jason Lawrence for what he did Chisolm should get fined and suspended also. A lapper, rather he be in 20th or 5th has no business even trying to stay with the leaders. He should have pulled out of the way like everyone else did.

I cant believe all these guys saying the championship is tainted, that’s bullshit! Stewart was in the lead when the shit went down and there is no doubt it would have stayed that way. Reed is a baby, plus the guy is taking all the fame from the u.s to promote himself in Australia and skip the nationals. Come on!

  • luckydmc Says:

See I wonder how many of you who say that it didn’t slow Reed down actually race. A) These two guys are seperated by 100ths of a second per lap consistently with their lap times. So even with a conservative estimate 1 to 1.5 second bonus from Chisholm is pretty large. B.) The level of concentration and intensity these guys ride at is staggering, and unmatched by ANYONE else in the world. At the same time they are human, and if you think Chad Reed didn’t have his mind on Chisholm for a few seconds after the spear you are delusional.

You add all that up, and of course what Chisholm did affected the outcome of the race. Now realistically speaking did I think Stewart was going to win the championship? Yes I did. He is the fastest rider, and has seemed to be a little more conservative in his approach which I think has led to more wins this season. There is no doubt in my mind that James knew nothing about what happened behind him, because of his reaction on the podium he looked shellshocked, and uncomfortable. But for all of you that make it sound like Stewart can just walk all over Reed I mean come on. There is only one person on the planet that can ride at that level……Chad.

It sucks that it was POSSIBLE that Chad could have pulled out win in SLC, and now we are left to talk about it here. The advantages that our sport could have seen with a tied championship race going into the penultimate round in advertising dollars, and positive press is hugely intangible. Now because of a rider in 20th place making a horrible decision we will never know what benefits Supercross could have gained.

  • 71 Says:

Kyle Jism, lol. I didn’t see the race but that comment just cracked me up.

  • Michael Johnston Says:

Even if it didn’t slow Reed down it certainly broke his focus and concentration. It affected the outcome, no doubt about it. Stewart has a history of crashing when being pressured and its likely he would have faltered if Reed had be able to keep the pressure on him. The Yamaha team should be fined $1 million and Chisholm suspended from Vegas and all of next year.

  • 523 Says:

Despite my belief that Stewart would have one either way, Chisolm’s block pass on Reed wasn’t that bad. If he really wanted to take him out he could have. Chisolm locked up the brakes and crashed, causing him to barely tap Reed’s swingarm. Reed didnt even get squirly coming ut of the corner.

And if it was on purpose, it’s nobodys fault but Chisolm’s. You can’t blame Stewart, Yamaha or anybody else. Besides, with Reeds dirty block pass into the tefblocks, he got what was comin to him.

  • Racing Fan Says:

As an Aussie enjoying the lifestyle in this great country of America, I find this fuss over whether Stewart is faster and whether Reed is a whiner, all pretty funny (amusing really). To say the least that Stewart is amazing (and before him the GOAT) is an understatement. For REED, coming from a country of 20 million people compared to the US of 300million, what are the odds of success?? He did not have a breeding ground to play in like Loretta’s and Ponca. I think you will find that he is just pumped to even be challenging someone of Stewart’s caliber. No-one can ride like JS and stay on the bike….partly the point isn’t it. I think credit is due for REED if for no other reason than his determination and persistence to be in the fight to win. If it were not for REED, then GOAT and JS would have had no competition for the last seven years. Who else in the field of riders can even come close to these guys every single week of the championship? I for one am bloody proud that REED even has the balls to make it a championship title fight and to challenge great champions like JS and GOAT… Go Reedy!!!

  • Kevin Says:

I am a Stewart fan and I agree that it would have been better had the whole incident not happened. I was at the race and it didn’t look that bad, but looked intentional. I watched on TV the next morning and if you look at Kyle’s rear tire, it is locked up when the contact is made. Looks to me like he came in too hot and locked it up to avoid contact, but wasn’t able to avoid it.

  • Dan Says:

  • Dan Says:

I think that the Chisholm incident EXACTLY what Choad Reed wanted,. An excuse! As soon as he figured out he wasn’t going to take out Bubba, the Choad found an excuse in Chisholm and stopped racing. So typical of that guy. I mean Choad Reed, who is that guy anyway?

Maybe JS would have won, maybe not - fact is now we’ll never know thanks to Kyle. Reminds me of when the 49ers played the Broncos and some bozo in the crowd tossed a snowball in front of the 49ers kicker before a field goal attempt. He missed, the niners lost. That’s not sports, that’s a jerkoff nobody getting in the way. This was the race some of us have waited years for, thanks to Kyle it got cut short. Bottom line, if JS gets the championship I hope all those people who said Chad didn’t earn it last year agree JS didn’t earn it this year. Bar banging between the top two is OK, but not from a lapped no talent team mate. Kyle should be banned form the Vegas race.

James was gone…..period. over and out. As usual. It doesn’t matter what Chiss did or didn’t do, James had already decided to stop playing with the little mouse and get on with it.

If a suzuki interfered with James, he would simply get up and go on to pass everyone including Chad to win the race….that is what he has done in the past. All you Chad fan boys seem to forget, James has come from dead last - spotted Chad huge leads and still just motored on by like the superstar he is. Get over it, Chad just doesn’t have the speed of a James Stewart - or a Ricky C either. Chad has NEVER been able to beat James or Ricky heads up.

  • team rock hardracing Says:

Hey, Reed started the battle with James sending him high trying to take him out, and James seems to like it, so no one is pointing it out.. Go Bubba ! He does not need any help in blasting past Reed, and we all know no one is faster than Stewart, even if it may appear so when Reed has the lead when James is just sizing him up for a pass. As for Team Yamaha, way cool boys, knock em down then kick em. I’m proud they take care of their own. I hope the gloves are off at Vegas, best man wins.Ill be the one cheering for Bubba !

Hey Racing Fan, Respect due, I totally agree with you ! Well said! After watching the race and reading all these posts, I feel everyone is making too big a deal of this incident. I gained a whole lot of respect for Aussies after reading your most intelligent comments. If only more moto fans thought like you !!!

  • Mike Says:

You can clearly see in the corner before the incident that Chisholm noticed that Chad was riding James very close and Chisholm decided he was going to change that.
He was not even in the race (sort a speak) but near last or last makes him only a rider on the track. But he clearly tried to make a difference in the out come, and that momentum shifted directly afterwards.
Sad but a good race is not always a clean race, but this was far from clean. It was as dirty as the track it self. I think all riders know when anything takes you out of focus you lose that little bit of the edge that makes you who you are. Reed got the short of the stick on this one.

  • Mike (LH) Says:

I don’t think James should get penalized on something that was not his fault or the fact that we cannot prove James had anything to do with what Chisholm did. However I think Chisholm should be band from riding Supercross again. It gives a clear message to riders that want to use the tactic of using your riding buddies to clear a path.
If they don’t do anything then I would say to Reed that he can retaliate for the dirty stunt that Chisholm handed to James advantage, and the non elimination of Chisholm.

  • MTGR Says:

You can’t deny Stewarts’ speed or talent, but Stewart often cracks like a cheap watch if someone can pressure him for more than a few laps (recall his multiple crashes last time Reed pressured over a full race distance?) and he had already started to make mistakes all over the place, so likely Chisholm saved the title for Stewart before he could pitch it away and hand back a huge points lead to Reed.

  • Mike (LH) Says:

I would say you are right about Chad riding staight up with James except of the fact that Chad is getting faster. And there is no room for bad riders on the track trying to purposely slow someone down.
How ever your statement about some of these guys are idiots, is just your own insecurity.
Also when has Chad clearly tried to take Bubba out? So who is the ID 10 T.
Also it is racing and it gets very intense. Chad’s pride is hurt and he is a winner and wants that title just like James. I feel his pain, yet I don’t see his tactics you say he has done. Bar to bar action means there will be plenty of riding next to each other in areas that you can’t help for when you seem to riding out of control.
I however I think James will go down as the fastest rider of all times unless Villapoto can prove me wrong. Chad can be faster but being faster means riding on the outside of that edge. One where James has perfected. In time I think Chad can do the same but I hope he can with out getting hurt.

  • InspectahDef Says:

For all of those bashing Chisolm (i believe he was wrong too), I think Reed may have been able to keep it closer if the incident hadn’t occurred. The outcome would’ve probably been the same though.

What about when Reed was trying to block Windham last year at Detroit while getting lapped? I don’t feel sorry for Reed one bit when things like that happen to him. He starts crying and making a fuss when things don’t go his way. Plus, I doubt stewart planned it.

Additionally, Reed did his best to take out Stewart earlier. He definitely tried to build up a good hit while cornering.

  • Jay Mac Says:

    Ladies and gentlemen,
Clearly this means that Chisholm is as fast as Chad Reed to be able to take his line away. Essentially, Chad Reed took away Chisholm’s line. When analyzing the replays of the entire race, he tackled this section the same way each lap. I wouldn’t have slowed down for that Aussie either.
Chad Reed fans can keep praying for Mike Alessi to qualify next week so we can see a cowardly move from Team Va-jay-jay.

  • Epilespaul100 Says:

Most of you guys are a bunch of retards.. Whoever thinks that Chisholms move was clean and fair has no clue what they are talking about. How can you justify that a rider getting lapped has the right to battle the person in second place? There was no way that that stupid action was an accident on Chisholms part, even someone with half a brain knows that. I agree witht he ones who say Reed may not be the fastest but he is consistent, and with Stewarts bobble in the corner Reed could have easily passed him if it wasnt for Chisholm. Either way Chisholm had no right whatsoever to do what he did and should be punished accordingly. And for all you ignorant Stewart fans, start battling for the lead in a real race and have a slower lapped rider slam his front tire into you and let me know how you feel about it…

  • Chad Reed and Fans are Whiners! Says:

Reed should be thanking Chisholm for giving him another excuse for why he lost! Watching the lap times on the screen, Reed was 1.2 seconds behind at the end of the lap with the incident , But strangely enough Reed lost ANOTHER second the next lap and kept dropping back. The point is, Reed was 1.2 seconds behind with 5 laps to go - if he drops back after that, he’s giving up. If he’d wanted to take it back to Stewart, there was plenty of time and he was plenty close enough to do it. But he quit! And then he whined! In short, it was just another day at the office for Chad Reed!

  • Pink_Freud Says:

Have Americans gotten so weak and politically correct that they can’t stand a little tough racing action?

Some of you should watch “One Chance To Win” and see what it is like to have REAL motocross racers giving it their all to win. Talk about “teaming”, how about Brad Lackey messing with Pierre Karsmakers to help his friend Jimmy Weinert get the championship? Does anyone, other than Karsmakers, say that Weinert’s title is “tainted”?

Motocross is a tough sport. Only the tough should be on the track and if you can’t put up with a little bar-to-bar action, you should take up a safer and slower sport, like Trials or Soccer.

It looks to me like Reed used the slight contact from Chisholm as an excuse for why he couldn’t keep pace with Stewart. He lost no time in the incident, but slowed down afterwards. He has no problem dishing it out and threatening to use his teammates to do his dirty work and hand him a title, but he can’t take even the slightest contact and bounce back and ride faster.

I’m sure that Roger DeCoster is inwardly a little chagrined at his rider’s lack of on-track aggressiveness and drive. Reed would never have made it out of the first heat in a race with guys like DeCoster, Hannah, Weinert, and Lackey. Those racers were MEN who could take it as well as they gave, who asked no quarter and gave no quarter, and who earned their championships by being the fastest and toughest SOB’s on the track!

  • elliott Says:

I do believe that it is a bit to early to write things such as “this championship is tainted.” Don’t forget that there is still 1 race to go. Racing is racing. Shit happens. Maybe Stewart or Reed’s engine will give it up on the very last lap of Vegas. There are literally 1000’s of things that could have a serious affect on this title chase. You dudes are way to short sighted.

That said, and after reading a post from some anonymous Aussie dude; I think it’s time for ol’Reedy to just go home and “lay” another shrimp on the barbie.

Steward did not score any points at all, beeing taken out be REED(!), and Reed was (correct me if I am wrong) third. Now Stewart has the points leed by 6, I think that proves a very certain point. If Reed should have earned this championship, he would be the pointsleader by far.

  • Motomom Says:

What you didn’t see, and I did, was Chisholm sat on the track until Stewart and Reed came around again, waited for Stewart to pass and then pulled right out in front of Reed again. I might have believed the first stunt was an accident until I saw him sitting there in the whoops waiting for Reed to come around again. My seat was directly in front of that section and I kept asking my husband, what’s he doing sitting there on the track? The aha moment came about 56 seconds later!

  • David Says:

I DID actually see it. I was seated in the section directly above the s-turn leading into the rhythm section (where Chisholm took Reed wide, to start) that led into the 180 where Chisholm t-boned Reed. Trust me, it was intentional.

  • Hoobastench Says:

  • YamaHater Says:

Come on guys racing is racing and two guys fighting for postion is what it is all about, stewart has been just as dirty as reed has been and both have blocked and taken each other high in berms, that is why we watch this sport…..Team Tactics on the other hand are the lowest form of racing and have always been a Yamaha Trademark…..LET BROC BYE. Also remember that factory riders used to ride “works” bikes until Yamaha had the AMA bring in the “production rule” because they couldn’t keep up with technology. Does anyone remember Broc Glover competing on that 1200 lbs YZ 490 against David Bailey’s 194 lbs 100 horsepower RC500. As for everyone of us that truly misses the smell of premix…and a $300 top end job…..Say Thank you to the Yamaha boys again, Although they didn’t create the stupid half the power twice the displacement rule they took full advantage of it with a works fourstroke and Doug Henry. I hate to admit it but I’m a racist……therefore I don’t cheer for stewart….for the same reason I didn’t cheer for chad last year…….BLUE Bike!!!! Don’t blame stewart for this incident he is inocent and the fastest guy on the planet…..he may have won Salt lake cleanly without Chisolm, or he may have once again cracked under pressure and took a dirt nap. We will never know!!!! Thanks Yamaha mangement. As far as Alessi taking out Stewart……he better do it in the heat race….because, if like last weekend, you have to be IN the Main to have a chance of affecting the outcome. Lets just hope that neither team resorts to this crap and we get the same type of race that we got for the first 15 laps last weekend

“I’ve got one of the best starters on my team” Reed is a funny guy! Will Alessi take Stewart out?

  • Anonymous Says:

alright this is ridiculous your all complaining about how chisolm slammed reed and stewart pulled away why does everyone hate on stewart? you hate cuz hes a winner and everyone always hates a winner, yeah when chisolm slammed reed it slowed him up a little but not much its not like he made reed wreck or nothin he caught his rear tire and reed kept on rollin, yeah if chisolm wouldnt of hit him it may of been a little closer but still it dont mean s*it stewart still won and still would of won whether chisolm hit him or not it dosent matter nothin is tainted everyone just hates a winner, yeah what kyle did was wrong and screwed up but still it didnt make or break the race. stewart dosent need someone to take out reed to win stewart can and has beat reed straight up,

chisolm and stewart are team mates!! you dousches dont remember a few year back when kawi had thier guysline up next to alessi! thier direct orders were to take him out so that tedesco could win the championship! its all part of moto! but when the points are this close that was a lil un-necessary! again though they are paid as a team to do that shit! and yamaha is dirty ne way!

  • mx.no Says:

If you think that nobody #38 was not acting on his own… then hurt the sponsors by not buying their stuff. It is not relevant whether Reed could have won it or not. The fans did'nt get to se the racing. The pathetic 3rd place in Vegas shows that James is not the showman he claims to be.
