Red Bud MX 2012: Practice

Newsflash: It’s hot as hell in Buchanan, Michigan, today. With temperatures deserving to be that of an oven knob, Red Bud is welcoming the typical giant crowd of fans who couldn’t care less about imminent heat stroke. The track is perfect, the dirt is perfect, the fans are pumped.
Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey came out swinging in the first practice, logging a fast lap over a second faster than anyone else on the track, but James Stewart joined him in the 2:06 time during the second session. Kawasaki teammates Jake Weimer and Tyla Rattray (Rattray is making his return to racing today after an injury at Hangtown) landed inside the top five, along with MotoConcepts’ Mike Alessi.
Geico Honda’s Eli Tomac terrorized both practices in the 250 class, handily securing the pole position in the motos. Red Bull KTM’s Marvin Musquin also put in a strong showing, scoring the second fastest lap. Check out the fast-lap times below, along with a few snaps from this morning’s practice.
