Red Bud Results–Carmichael Continues his streak, Stewart takes 125cc overall.

Ricky Carmichael continues to rewrite motocross history. He is just making mincemeat of every other 250cc rider in the class. Who will be the one to break his streak? Twelve moto wins in a row! Will he be beaten outdoors?

Team Yamaha’s Tim Ferry, looked strong in the first moto, but a crash with Keith Johnson at the start of the second moto, knocked the wind out of the Floridian’s sails. Ferry managed to make his way back up to sixth place by the end of the second moto, to try to salvage some points. Tim told us that he bruised his ribs while play-riding, on Thursday with his teammate, Chad Reed at his home in Dade City, Florida. Ouch! Team Chevy Trucks/Kawasaki’s Ezra Lusk rode consistent at Red Bud, going 3/4 for third overall, rounding out the 250cc podium.

James “Bubba” Stewart, is still amazing fans at every stop on the circuit. The young pro fell in the first turn of his first moto, then proceeded to give the rest of the 125cc class a clinic, passing everyone but Chad Reed. The Chevy Trucks/Kawasaki rider went from 39th place to second! Stewart even looked to have the stamina, and speed to take Reed if he needed to.

In the second moto, Stewart had things going his way. A pass by Branden Jesseman did not last for long. The Blimpie/Suzuki rider passed Bubba, then fell over. Towards the end of the race, with four laps left to go, Stewart, went over the bars! He re-gained his composure and still one the moto, and the overall for the day. Branden Jesseman earned second overall while vet Larry Ward stood on the third place box. “Big Bird” seems to like the podium at Red Bud, last year, he won the race!
