RV And Eli Rule Qualifying At RedBud 2013

For motocross fans in the Midwest, summer doesn’t officially begin until the first weekend in July, when they head to Buchanan, Michigan for the annual RedBud National. Timed qualifying has just concluded at round seven of the 2013 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, where once again Eli Tomac and Ryan Villopoto clocked the fastest laps of the morning.

Today’s weather in Michigan is pleasant when compared to years past, with highs just around the 80 degree mark, which will help racers recover in time for the hurried schedule live television coverage requires. All four motos today will be broadcast on FUEL TV, NBC, and NBC Sports, so be sure to check your local listings for exact times.

250 Timed Qualifying

GEICO Honda’s Eli Tomac was over three seconds faster than anyone in the 250 class, turning a 2:18.007 to the 2:21.195 turned in by second place runner Jason Anderson. Current point leader Ken Roczen claimed third place in the sheets by running a 2:21.211 time, but the Red Bull KTM rider will need to find an extra dose of speed to best Tomac and hold onto his points lead. Cole Seely and Marvin Musquin finished off the top five, respectively. It is worth noting that every rider from second place to eighth were just milliseconds apart in the 2:21 range.
