Team Signs With Richardson’s RV and PPG Automotive Finishes

Premier Women’s Motocross Team Signs With Richardson’s RV and PPG Automotive Finishes, Heads To Glen Helen For Round One Of WMA Nationals

Round 1 of the Women’s Motocross Association (WMA) Nationals will be held Saturday, May 14 at Glen Helen Raceway. Yamaha Factory backed team BlueStarrMX riders Sarah Whitmore and Tarah Gieger will be ready to take on the competition in style and comfort in their new 2006 Freedom RV by Coachmen, provided by Richardson’s RV in Riverside, Sun City, and Temecula.  Be sure to call Richardson’s RV to take a tour of the Freedom RV by Coachmen by calling (951) 679-9800 or visiting them on the web at

Richardson’s RV, the premier RV dealer in Southern California and a big supporter of local motocross and powersports enthusiasts joins forces with, providing the team with the Ramp and Camp style coach for the first two rounds of the WMA National Series. Richardson’s RV owner/manager Marc Hauser said,  “I am excited to be involved with women’s professional racing by sponsoring the BluestarrMX team.  Women’s motocross is gaining momentum and has a big future; After all, girls need heroes too.  In fact, my daughter is fascinated with motocross and Sarah and Tarah in particular, given all that they have accomplished in a sport that is dominated by males.  She is so excited about motocross we just recently built a mini track at our home.

Also jumping on board to sponsor the team this year is PPG Automotive, the leader in automotive paint products and supplies.  PPG owner/manager said, “I’m glad to help the team out and believe more companies should look into this arena for marketing opportunities.  After all, everyone has a mother, sister, girlfriend or wife.  These women have a lot of influence over our lives and if we can somehow involve them in a sport we love, it is only better for everyone.

Whitmore and Gieger are thrilled to have Richardson’s RV and PPG on board in time for Round 1. The first moto at Glen Helen starts at noon, the second at 2:30 with autograph sessions and the chance to meet the riders throughout the day.  Gieger, now fully recovered from a serious injury sustained at Gatorback in FL on the huge elevator jump back in February said,  “I’m excited to be back on my Yamaha YZ250 and really want to win motos this weekend!”  Her teammate Whitmore, just returning from a 3rd place finish at the Challenge MXF women’s pro race in France, expressed similar sentiment, “I missed most of last season because of Epstein Barr Virus and was really disappointed.  I’m fully recovered now and riding my Yamaha YZ125 in my new MSR gear is awesome because the gear is comfortable and my bike is so fast and so light!”  Team Manager Tateum Bowers added, “Sarah and Tarah have been riding and training every day and are now 100% ready to get out there and battle for the championship.”

Hangtown follows Glen Helen and is held in conjunction with the AMA Outdoor Nationals on Saturday, May 21.
