AND WHO SAID PIGS CAN¿T FLY??? . . .
High Point, though it looked to be shaping up as a sloppy warthog-like mudfest, turned out to be quite the wondrous MX event. There was something for everybody, including racing like we haven¿t seen in quite awhile.
First off ¿ Our Privateer of the Week — Mr. Mike Brown. Yup, that¿s right. Mike is a full-on Team Warthog privateer this season. After getting sick of the high Euro (or maybe non-existent!!!) exchange rate, he came back to give the Nationals a shot and finds himself in the 250F class points lead, Not only that, he is the first privateer from the land we call Warthogia to win a moto in the major leagues. He certainly deserves the ceremonial honor. Who knows, we may well even see him fly the cape on the parade lap before the season is over. Good job, Mike!!!
And then there are the two winners of the weekly Most Improved Privateer Program (MIPP) awards.
Keith Johnson cashed in on the DeCal Works/Team Warthog Open Class MIPP award (www.DecalMX.com) with an overall improvement of two positions, from 26th O/A in the Hangman¿s valley to 24th O/A at the Point. Keith , keep up the progress and you¿ll be rubbing elbows with Bubba and RC before you know it.
Chad Ward punched the Engine Ice/Team Warthog 250F Class MIPP award (www.EngineIce.cc) ticket with an individual moto improvement of one position, from 31st at Hangtown to 30th at High Point. Although nobody qualified for the award in this class based on O/A results, the new MIPP award formula now falls back to individual motos to calculate a winner in the event of no O/A improvement,
RUNNING AROUND IN A VIRTUOUS CIRCLE . . .
Briefly, the virtuous circle is working to make Team Warthog sustainable over the long haul ¿ Why?? Because apparently enough of you¿ all feel these programs are making a difference.
Who¿s in this cool sounding yet somewhat peculiar circle this week????
All the Privateers as always, who are still giving it their all and doing the best they can. A special get-well shout out to Robbie Smith, who broke both his arms in a mishap down in Texas.
The ¿Ultra-Elite Riders¿ ¿ they are contributing across the board ¿ literally to a man (and woman and their sponsors). All the top 20 of this sport — they¿re giving something back and we really, really appreciate it!! At High Point, Warthog Auction SWAG was contributed to us by Mike Brown, Travis Preston, Broc Hepler, Ricky Carmichael, Josh Grant, Eric Sorby, and Andrew Short. Visit the auctions at www.WonderWarthogRacing.com/auctions/ and bid high, because all proceeds are going directly to the privateers of Team Warthog

Also, a big hooray to John Ayers and Tim Cotter of the NPG, who helped us get settled (Does that imply we were unsettled before they intervened?? Yup!!!). You all make us look good, and that ain¿t easy . . .
