Last year’s event was a huge success and a lot of fun. Several industry types and even more motocross stars showed up for last year’s event, and are expected to do the same this year. Several from the winning team from last year, which included Jeremy McGrath, Buddy Antunez, Larry Brooks and Ricky Fowler, are expected to return to defend their title. Other motocross celebrities who have confirmed include: Andrew Short, Jeff Emig, Justin Brayton, Sarah Whitmore, and more.
The Brett Downey Safety Foundation was formed to help promote track safety. As the sport grows and more and more people are forced to ride tracks, as opposed to open areas, especially here in southern California . The Foundation has recognized a need to make the tracks safer. In an effort to do just that, the Foundation is currently producing a video which follows the AMA guidelines for flaggers and instructs the flaggers how to effectively and safely carry out their duties at the tracks, be it a local track, or ultimately, a Supercross/Motocross track.
The Brett Downey Safety Foundation is a non-profit organization and is run wholly on donations. Go to www.mxsafety38.org for more information and to purchase tickets.
